Fun Fact: In case no one has mentioned it, the janitor who tells Ross about what really happened to Marcel is, actually, the legendary voice of Homer Simpson (Dan Castellaneta)! 😉Actually, that episode is full of cameos. Another notable one is the guy dating Phoebe is played by Chris Isaak, who is a very successful singer best known for his song "Wicked Game" (which is the song Ross turns on at the museum for his date with Rachel in episode 15, by the way!) The comment about him not knowing much about music and Phoebe making fun of the note he hits are both inside jokes. That yodel he does is a very famous part of "Wicked Game", which is why he hits it so well. Haha! (It's a bit of a Chris Isaak signature).

Joey's stalker was played by Brooke Shields from the movie "Blue Lagoon," and a bunch of other movies and shows, as well as Calvin Kline Jeans ads. Her husband at the time, Andre Agassi the tennis player, reportedly had a fit about her character licking Joey's hand. As for the kid looking at Chandler when Phoebe sings about bisexuals, while there many implications that Chandler is not totally straight during the series, when it seems like he might be attracted to men too, it's always played for a laugh, which did not age well. Rewatching "Friends" after watching "Red, White, and Royal Blue" (which just got a 2nd movie announced--YAY!!!) and watching the show "Heartstopper," I wonder what "Friends" would have been like if they just had written Chandler as Bi. So many shows back in the day, had episodes where characters debated whether another character was gay or straight, while totally ignoring the possibility of someone being Bi, much less acknowledging Pan, Demi, Asexually, etc. exist. From RWRB when Alex's mom says the B in LGBTQ is not a silence letter, it really resonates when watching old shows and movies. As for Richard and Monica, a lot of us had crushes on Tom Sellick from his "Magnum, P.I." days. For a lot of us who grew up watching age-gap romances, the age difference wasn't a big deal...especially since Monica was 27, well old enough to decide what qualities she wanted in a boyfriend. Richard is actually my 2nd favorite of Monica's boyfriends. They were adorable together. On to Ross and Rachel, while the night they made love most of our attention is on the planetarium and them getting caught in the exhibit, I'd say it's worth extra attention that when Ross had to work unexpectedly, she was cool about it, and suggested they could put off their date for another day, showing Rachel understands how important his job is to him, and she knows he should have a life outside of her that satisfies him. She doesn't try to make herself his everything. That is an important quality to have in a relationship. Wanting each other to have satisfying lives outside of the relationship is healthy and makes for a stronger relationship because it respects each other as individuals with their own hopes, dreams, and aspirations.

Lots of cameos in the first episode. First, Chris Isaak American singer, songwriter, guitarist and occasional actor. Noted for his reverb-laden rockabilly revivalist style and wide vocal range, he is popularly known for his breakthrough hit and signature song "Wicked Game" (which you later hear in episode 15). Selleck was a HUGE star in the '80s most famous for his TV series Magnum P.I. (which was so huge and so memorable that CBS has done a remake in the last few years) and a few film roles including "Three Men and a Baby." Selleck never really stopped acting, and currently is on the cop show "Blue Bloods." All of this just shows just how much steam "Friends" was picking up in just its 2nd season.

With most ensemble casts like this I honestly don't have a favorite, but in this case I definitely do, and it is Ms.Buffay all the way. She's the perfect combination of sweet and feisty. And I can assure you that the writers have given her and us many more, "You know, if we were in prison......" -type lines in future episodes.
