The blackout was actually a shared universe event. Most of NBC's primetime sitcoms at the time were the same universe, and they all experienced the blackout that night. Except Seinfeld; it just did not play with others

Cody, to your question about the sweet and low packets- she probably didn't have any particular plans for them. It's a common thing among people who lived through the Great Depression to collect weird little things like that. It's not so much about using them as not being able to turn down anything that's free. My grandpa collected plastic shopping bags for the same reason (and stockpiled stuff when it was on sale.... he had enough salt to last my entire extended family for the next couple of generations)

The Thanksgiving episodes are the best holiday episodes in Friends. But The One With The Holiday Armadillo is the best Christmas themed one. In between these 3 episodes you watched the One With The Blackout is my favorite. Chandler is just too good with Jill Goodacre. RIP Matthew Perry.

The blackout ep is one of my favs from season 1. Some great moments. It def. made me sadder about Matthew though! :( My step dad actually reminds me a lot of chandler and multiple people think he is gay when they first meet him too cuz he's just a bit nice and has a vibe idk lol. The Friends Thanksgiving eps are THE GREATEST!

I didn’t know that y’all were watching this show. I’m definitely going to watch this with y’all. Friends was such an important part of my life when I was younger and Chandler Bing was the friend we all wish we had. It hurts watching these episodes right now but I think as time goes on the pain will lessen and I’ll appreciate the fact that I can still love and appreciate Chandler!

I was just thinking the same thing too about the door. When leaving an apartment don't you need your keys to lock your door anyway? If so then right now the door should still be unlocked because since no one took any keys the door should still be unlocked and open right so why is it locked?
