I love how team Emily you were on this episode. I always felt bad that lore made him feel bad about the room. They could have compromised and ate in the room and then had drinks at the bar. But the result was cute still.

Okay. So, it's not often I come to Lorelai's defense but here goes. I feel like she was mostly cool in this episode. She didn't know that her mother didn't like Pennilyn. And even if she had, all she did was engage her in friendly conversation. Lorelai is very outgoing. If she avoided everyone Emily didn't like she'd barely talk to anyone. Dating Jason is a bit inappropriate. He is her father's business partner. But I would say it doesn't reach the level of terrible until she and Jason agree to keep it secret.

Emily's outburst with Lorelai wasn't right but it was kind of understandable... She just got pretty devastating news. Richard is the one who deserved the vitriol, but unfortunately Lorelai was the one there to catch it. It's actually painfully accurate for how some people feel when they've been betrayed, 'If you hadn't spoke to her, then I wouldn't know and everything would be fine.'

Emily is totally in the wrong here. She wants to blame Lorelai for Richard’s mistake. She had no right to tell her who she can and can’t talk to. If she wasn’t so demanding and controlling, then maybe Richard wouldn’t have felt the need to lie to her in the first place.
