As for why Gideon stealing the deed matters: apparntly it's not properly brought up in the shoow far as I now, but apparently Quentin Trembly (former US President and crazy weirdo) enacted a 'finders keepers' law esentially saying if you can take it, it's yours. Gideon took the deed, so now the shack is his due to Finders Keepers.

Well it’s not like he’ll need it, since the safe is destroyed. But also, it’s “lost” cuz Bill can’t get ahold of it. Since it’s still in Stan’s mind, he could still recall it. After all, entering a memory doesn’t seem to alter said memory, it just makes Stan dream of said memory. Did I think too deeply about this this? Yes.

I'm loving these Gravity Falls reactions, I'd love to see more! The next episode, Gideon Rises, is definitely one worth reacting to, there's some crazy plot stuff going down in that one. I'd also love to see a reaction to Bill's second episode, Sock Opera. It's less plot important than the former, but I'd consider it one of the best episodes.

One of my favorite things about this episode is not only the introduction of Bill, but the subtle hints at Stans past. I love when they show Stan and Fords swing set with the visual of Fords swing being broken. It’s a sort of symbolism that he’s gone and I think it’s pretty neat!

Even In the books it was said he planned to commit suicide in Dipper’s body, and planned to do it to Mabel as well (tho him threatening Mabel could also be done by killing Mabel first in said body and THEN doing the jump), so he clearly only acts defanged and pleasant when he wants something.

Well Mathew, Gideon actually CAN just steal the Deed and claim ownership. This is because of the "finders keepers" law. I do not recall if thsi was mentioned in that one episode with the peanut brittle guy but I know he is the one who implemented it.

I think it's less about it being "legal" and more about that it's Gideon who has the deed because the Pines Family knows that Gideon is a sham, but the whole entire town loves him still. So whatever he says, goes because he has the entirety of Gravity Falls wrapped around his lil fingers.
