I discovered Idle Hands at like 2 in the morning on one of the many HBO channels that exist. I saw that it had Devon Sawa (crushed on him ever since Casper and Little Giants) and Seth Green (who doesn't love Seth Green!!!?!??!?) and I put this on having no idea how much I would love this silly horror comedy movie. Definitely, a Halloween must watch for and part of the rotation but it doesn't get talked about as much because of the comedy aspect I suppose.

This is where the powers that be failed this movie... they refused to advertise it as a stoner comedy. Which kind of works out because it's a good surprise... but they would have doubled their box office just from the stoner crowd and tripled their concession stand sales. Oh, and this was definitely 1000% on the same wavelength you're on. Lol.

This film unfortunately suffered from poor timing during its release. It was released the same month of the Columbine High School massacre, so the film distributor considered a delay, and ultimately cancelled the premiere. Many theaters, especially in Colorado, where the school shooting happened, deciding not to screen it at all. It got negative reviews and was a box office bomb, and I think that was because of the timing and what was going on socially. Thankfully it has gained a cult following, and it's in my top 5 horror comedies of all time.
