I think what hurts my heart is that you realise throughout the whole video that JK was the only one who said close to nothing the entire time as he watches his oldest brother who cared for him during his youth enter the military and leaving him behind. And then not too long later we get Jimin changing his profile picture again to him and Jin and then asking about Jin. The boys all have one heck of a brotherhood together. So, it's bittersweet as they're doing what they gotta do. Here's to future projects and then to their hopeful regrouping at some point in 2025.

I noticed that too. If you watch stage cams of Jungkook you notice when he gets very emotional and starts crying he always, always, always secludes and separates himself from the other members, as if he doesn't want them to see him upset. I think his silence spoke volumes...

I never said they are the most good looking or even the most talented, but they will definitely be the most genuine and have the most respectful and loving friendship I have ever seen! Nico, thank you for letting us process this unwelcome adjustment with you. When I first watched this send-off video, it occurred to me that Jin is the only one who will have all the members with him at his enlistment ceremony. Also, all seven watching Jin standing with the other recruits reminded me of the older brothers watching Jungkook with his classmates at his graduation ceremony. Youngest and oldest, like bookends. ARMY is sad, but working through it together helps. Borahae, fam! Fighting! 💜

I had so many emotions watching this video. I remember watching this when he first came out and seeing the members reaction seeing him leave made me cry. Seeing Jungkook being quieter was usual, you would see him and Sepkjin goofing off. I can’t imagine what all the members are going thought or what there feeling. But I think we all going to be okay. The military are borrowing their eldest brother, but they'll be joining him at some point and it will be no time before they'll all be back again. Their friendship is unmatched ❤️

as horrible of a feeling this is, 2 years isn't as bad as we think it is. People loved to throw their name around and theorize it'd take 7 whole dang years, but we got the best version. Jin will be back in 1 year in a half, he will be discharged the day before BTS's 11th anniversary (June 12th 2024) After that it will only get easier because the members will slowly start coming back. HYBE has confirmed Suga, Taehyung, Jimin and Jungkook will release their albums in 2023 and start enlisting during that time; Jin has also said he has an album prepared but the timing didn't work out, so he'll wrap it up and drop it as soon as he returns. Meaning we're covered for 2023, 2024, and 2025. We'll be fine army, however I don't support holding back tears, please cry if you have to. This will be an incredible thing, they'll realize how much they miss each other when they reunite and then we're all going to be crying tears of happiness. I'm looking at this from an optimistic side, im so proud of the Tannies, and I can't wait for 2025. Keep streaming Jack In The Box, The Astronaut, and Indigo! The next 4 members are coming next year, we'll have our work cut out for us. Army fighting! 💜

I have been with them since their pre-debut days and I have been a K-pop fan since 2008 so I know those male idols would eventually serve in the military. I thought I was ready the whole time while following Bangtan's journey, but I was in denial. I actually cried when they finally send him off. It feels sad but it's their genuine choice to serve their country and we will always be here to support them 💜

I was waiting for your reaction. As a female from the states who’s served the first few days will be adjusting but think that Jin is stronger than most assume. Also rewatch the video, slow it down to .75 and watch without the sound. This is an interaction of family. Each member is dealing with it in accordance to his personality. JK (his baby) touching his head is beautiful,so also is the way SUGA goes behind the neck and is rubbing it . Also on Weverse we can still send Jin respectful messages that he may be able to view during his off time in the computer center. Finally something that I would really be interested in is sending Jin gifts BUT no just to him but to include the guys in his platoon ( or however they were separated in Korea). Like Isaid I have served and it was always nice whenever someone got cookies from home and they shared. We can turn this into something positive,most of the guys he is serving with are younger and this is probably their first time away from their families.. we as BTS Army need to remember them also. It is too late to send for Christmas but something in the new year. Also I am more than willing to donate if a group that I trust would be involved in this. 💜

This is so bittersweet! I think the reason I'm not too sad is because I feel like they already made up their minds to go way before it was heavily discussed in the past two or so years, so I knew what to expect. I know we'll miss them being altogether, but like they said it's a once in a lifetime thing, it won't happen again. They've given us so much, so many life lessons, so much music. The trouble is that they have spoilt us, they have given us so much music, love and laughter year in year out, the fact that they have been forcibly taken from us, leaving us without them will leave a huge hole in our lives. I know that they have been working hard to leave things behind for us, but this is bittersweet, they should have been out enjoying their time off, living the life that they have missed out on over the last dozen years, but no, they have been thinking of us, to make the separation easier, for us. How can you not love and appreciate these wonderful young men? My mothers heart is aching for them all. I will admit that I am angry at the Korean government, they deserved an exemption for the work they have put in to making their country richer both economically and culturally for the good attention the rest of the world has given it because of BTS, whether the country deserved it or not. Poor Jin out in the coldest place in South Korea, the cold that he hates so much and his band of brothers know this and would feel his pain. We have similar mandatory military service in my country too and my only son who just finished college is waiting to enlist anytime in 2023. Watching Jin and the other members here, I now understand why parents cried at entrance ceremonies. I was surprised by how hard I've cried every single time I've watched the video of Jin singing Astronaut with Coldplay in Argetina, knowing he flew over 36 hours to give that gift to all of us and o have the chnce to sing those beautiful words live to an audience that had so many ARMYS in attendnce. Everytime he turns around and starts running my heart just loses it and I can't hold back. I've had to part with those I love so very much, for a time and with far too many I've had to part with them not knowing where, when, how or IF I'll ever get to see them again, so I know how they must feel (on some kind of a level, ofcourse I don't know exactly how Jin and all the other members feel exactly, but the heart knows what it knows. I know how tough this was and is for them, knowing that they can't just see him every day when they want to or feel like it, as they've largely been able to do for so many years. But then JK, I can really feel his emotional state during all of this, no idea why I think I can, but it sure hits me hard like I'm really sensing it; the way he must feel a bit lost trying to process this and deal with it, without the regular physical presence of someone who's one of his "lights", Jin, who'd do literally anything for JK and vice versa, when they've been tighter than some blood brothers are.

I have to admit as soon as they started playing For Youth I was done. I actually wrote a letter to the Blue house and put it up on their twitter just to say why I felt the guys deserved an exemption for their service to their country as ambassadors to the UN twice, the White House on Asian hate, taking on the role of ambassadors to bring the Expo to Busan. Then there is the Korean language and culture they have enriched our lives with and to cap it they are seven extremely talented men who came up from a small label, worked their butts off despite the obstacles thrown in their way and became THE biggest group not only in Korea but worldwide. AND they're still as humble as they were at the start, still as caring about ARMY and importantly each other. BTS✌🏿🤞🏿

I appreciate ARMY’s reactions to this video. Selfishly, I get to cry and purge the sadness every time I see this video. I can’t watch it on my own but with various ARMY, I can. RM said it best. We know Jin and cold weather - we worry, RM mentioned they are all getting ready to do the same. Oh Nico, you made me cry! I am happy for them experiencing life as it is but this is so bitter for us. We love them but we love them insaneley on the stage. I still think that all the members should be exempt from military duty because NO ONE has done more to bring all nations together spreading love and respect no matter who or where they come from! What they have done for Korea financially as well as opening the door for all other KPOP groups to go global is remarkable!! Honestly, my heart hurts! Think positive it is only 542 days until the members start to return from enlistment. ARMY can wait 18 mths. ARMYs that have been around for for many years have been through worse, the abuse, the insults,the discrimination and the pain the exhaustion and the stress they had to endure, we have held in there. We have never left their side not even once, so now when the guys have to serve their country we will be right here beside them, supporting and cheering ,as always. Let’s give them a reassurance that when they get out, no matter what they decide to do with their career, we will trust their decisions and be right behind them 100%. It must be scary for them to face this new obstacle but as always they will take it head on and do their best. 💜

Seeing Jin separated like that from his brothers brings to mind when he said that not having his brothers with him feels like he is missing a part of himself. That broke me. I know Jin is going to do well because he is such a beautiful soul. My consolation is that while he is serving, Jin will make more friends too. He is preparing the rest of the guys for their turn. These men have a soul connection, this cannot be broken or damaged. They will always be a part of each other. I send a message daily to Jin on Weverse, and will continue to do so until he returns. Yeah, they don't really understand how hard it is for us armys.. Only real armys can understand how we feel right now.. Seeing Jin salute makes me so proud of him coz he fulfill his duty as korean citizen.. But at the same time it sad. But we'll get through this. Its only 18 months.. I wish I knew how to stream so that I could stream all of BTS and keep it going throughout all of their military service and even when they come home. Keep the prayers and good thoughts and positivity going and keep them uplifted. They need us now more than ever ARMY! BTS FOREVER!

Thank you for sharing this reaction, Nico. Jin always has ARMY in his heart and he doesn't want to make ARMY sad, that's why they're keeping it light. Same way he kept his farewell short and sweet after he sang Astronaut in Argentina. As always, I take comfort in their music, and my double shot of Jin is my daily fillip. You hit the nail on the head, “I don’t want a goodbye for now”. I respect every decision they make. They always do what is right for them, which is how it should be. As much as it makes me/us sad to see them separated, because we know how special their bond is, they know what they’re doing and have prepared way beyond our knowledge every single detail of their path. As Jin is the first one to go, not gonna lie, I may not be this strong as they each say their temporary goodbye. I’m also very thankful that they decided to share this moment with us. 💜

Nico, your endment perfectly summarizes everything ARMY is feeling right now. It's a symbiotic relationship between us and the boys, it's why their enlistment hits hard. Also so many of us found connections and friendships through our love of BTS. Those that aren't into idol groups just don't understand why we would shed tears, but they don't understand the complexity of this connection.

Yes, young and old, from east to west and north to south, all genders, all races, members and ARMY - It is sad. But there is nothing better than seeing those 7 together!!! Listening to The Astronaut now on Spotify. Still crying, but at least not sobbing like I was when I saw those 6 big black SUVs roll up and through the military base gates on the LiveStream I was watching as it happened. Then again the sobs seeing this PRECIOUS, CHERISHED released video! Thank you BTS!!!!!!!!

There aren't a lot of moments in life when there's a clear moment of before and after. Births, deaths, surgeries, marriages...and moments like this are profound because they show us in an immediate and visceral way how everything can and does change in a single moment. But, change is going to happen, no matter what. This hit me harder than I thought it would honestly. I’ve been mentally preparing myself. Trying to cheer up other army on Weverse. But it all became too real. I cried when he posted the picture of his shaved head, I cried when they posted the group picture, I cried when I saw this video when it was posted, and here I am crying again. They have been so important for me the last 4 years. They helped get me through the toughest times I have ever experienced. It’s sad knowing that I’ll be this emotional as we send them off one by one. Bur I’ll be here waiting and supporting the members who have solo activities💜 ARMY BTS 2025 😭💜

The korean army (i assume) recently posted 2 photos of him on the official channel which can be seen re-posted by some fans. One of him seated in a chair with other colleagues in a group photo and one is an individual post in uniform. Last one of him carrying chairs was also posted.
