When Alex goes "savage", what you have to remember is that he's a LION who hasn't eaten for a couple days. He's thinking with his stomach, so his more primal side is coming out. He calms down at the end, because the penguins give him some fish. He can't exist on fruit and seaweed like the others.
@LizLuvsCupcakes2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that’s something a teacher of mine explained when we watched it in elementary school. Gloria is an omnivore, but mostly can survive off fruit and seaweed if she has to. Melman and Marty are both herbivores and cannot digest meat at all, so they didn’t have Alex’s problem. Our teacher actually told us, "everything green you see? Marty, Melman and Gloria can eat that. They’re set for life." But he told us Alex literally couldn’t digest anything they could eat, which I don’t know how correct that is, but it was a fascinating day in class.

@RedAdmrl Thanks for the heads up. I plan on getting a cat one day. And turtles.
@nkbujvytcygvujno6006 Жыл бұрын
It’s really not accurate to real life at all though. Like, real life omnivores do need meat eventually and can’t survive off just vegetation if they don’t want to get symptoms of malnourishment. They don’t have meat substitutes. And most herbivores, especially mammals, actually can digest meat, they just don’t actively seek it out like predators. Though they are more likely to bite at smaller creatures if they aren’t getting enough of a vitamin- there’s real life pictures of stuff like cows in pastures eating snakes and stuff. Don’t take this as any kind of real life advice for pets.

I always loved the "Wonderful World" segment as not only does it reflect the original meaning of the song, people from different backgrounds coming together, but it's a perfect juxtaposition to what's going on. The Zoo Animals, much like many children in the audience, view the wild as some harmonious environment in reality it is a grueling survival of the fittest situation. As Alex is forced into isolation in order to keep his carniverous nature from eating his friends; Marty, Gloria, and Melman learn about predation and the true nature of the world is not so wonderful after all.

About your reaction to Winnie the Pooh, it's ok If you didn't like Pooh or feel confused with the story. I was just surprised because Pooh is one of the most innocent things in the world. To have an idea, the film is based on the book about based on the real life Christopher Robin's stories about him playing and having little adventures with his plushie friends (the only ones that are not plushies are Rabbit, Owl and Gopher). If you search a little, the plushies where the characters are based on are still very preserved in a museum if I remember. So think that those little stories in the film is just about the little kid playing with his imaginary friends in that enchanted woods. I really do hope you react to the other Pooh's films eventually, because the Tigger movie and Pooh's Grand Adventure - The Search for Christopher Robin are one of my biggest favorite disney films.

I’d like to point out with the presents Marty got- it makes sense because Alex is the most popular attraction at the zoo, so he would easily be able to grab something from the merch. They can’t exactly just go up to the zookeepers and be like “sup dawg, it’s Marty’s birthday can you guys make him a present for me?” Alex was trying and I don’t think Marty minded that at all. Nick, you need to know something and it’s awesome (in my opinion). The penguins? Nickelodeon made a tv series. Penguins of Madagascar! Imagine a whole series of just the penguins!

This is one of my favourites childhood Dreamwork movies! They did a great job with the plot and the comedy too. I love all of the trilogies since they manage to keep the comedic/serious tone to it. I also love the way they write the characters and the dialogue for them it is just hilarious, mostly the penguins, they're my favourite characters. I recommend you to watch Penguins of Madagascar! They got their movies and it has the same comedic/serious tone to it, but still leaning towards the serious tone more. Love your reaction, Nick! Also, Fossa is a real animal that is closely related to the mongoose family.

I wonder why Skipper called Marty monochromatic, when they share the same two colors. Mono means one, chromatic deals with colors, so monochromatic means one colored. Sugar Honey Ice Tea

Night reactions are chill. Grab a snack, watch a movie then head to bed. Pretty good routine

Nick, thanks so much for getting started on the Madagascar movie franchise! I would say that the first, and third films are my favorites of the three, but I still like the second film too. Anyway, I loved so many of the jokes, especially the hell one, or “Darn you all to heck!” And yeah, the characters overall were fun too. Honestly, though not quite having the same magic as say Shrek, Kung Fu Panda, or even How To Train Your Dragon, I’m glad that Madagascar has been popular since the beginning of it’s release. Oh, though this film may look like a little kid’s film on the surface, Madagascar serves as a great example of why films like it can have things for all ages, kids, teens, and adults, to enjoy, you know? Well, great reaction once again!
