Fnaf 3 is one of my favorites and it does get better in the later nights, but I do agree it’s confusing to learn because they try to tell you what to do while also trying to explain lore details.😊

U have to remember the fact that many people during this time even Scott himself thought that it would be the final game in the franchise. This is why it has so much lore in it to answer the questions that the fandom was asking during this time. Unfortunately many people didn't like this game due to it being too unique from the rest which is why Scott made more games after this since he himself was not satisfied due to the reviews of the game

1:33 FNaF 3's general placement in the timeline is well known (30 years after Freddy Fazbear's Pizza last closed and shortly before the sixth game takes place), though it's exact date has never been outright confirmed. However, many speculate that it takes place in 2023, which obviously happens to be the current year, since FNaF 1 and the closure of the location seen in that game have both been implied to take place in 1993.

The minigames are in the past explaining how Afton became Springtrap. He is dismantling each animatronic one by one. Keep in mind at the time we didn't even know his name was William Afton or related to who we were playing as or why he was dismantling them. The gameplay is just balancing the ventilation system while playing audio lures to get Springtrap to stay away from the office. Most feel its the easiest, that is once you get it down because it is initially confusing.

If I remember, Mark just got lucky to avoid the ghosts in the first night. Fnaf 3 was pretty interesting, as it was the first introduction of Springtrap. As well as more fluid animation of Springtrap. FNAF 3 for me is either between number 4 or 5 on my list. FNAF 3 isn’t bad from a story aspect (probably one of the best out of the whole franchise) but from a gameplay perspective, not the best really. But I still love it just because of Springtrap. FNAF 3 also to me didn’t really have the best scares but let me tell you, the next game, will be rough. To explain what you actually have to do, Basically, you got to lure Springtrap away from your office with the audio while avoiding the Phantoms and resetting your video, audio, and ventilation systems. Also yes, the reason why nothing happens on the first night was because Springtrap isn’t in the location at that point and Springtrap makes the Phantoms appear due to the Agony within the suit (according to the Fazbear Fright books) Also about the minigames, they take place before Afton was spring locked and leads up to his death. FNAF 3 takes place 30 years after Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza was closed which we know is referencing the FNAF 1 location. The FNAF 1 location likely closed in 1993 and adding 30 years to that would be 2023, which is when FNAF 3 is and Fazbear’s Fright opens. Also, don’t diss my guy Phone Dude. He’s cool

So the importance of FNAF 3 is the story. FNAF 1-3 tells a story of tragedy, hauntings, revenge, and the punishment of a monster. It was the best era of the story. I miss Vincent lol. The reason FNAF 4 and dream theory exists is because fans didn't like FNAF 3s gameplay, which, as you pointed out, is rather obtuse and boring. It doesn't really get much better, but if you pay attention to the phone guy recordings and the minigames you should get the gist of what Scott was trying to convey.

It might seem like there's a lot going on at first, but in reality it's actually not very complex. All you have to do is keep Springtrap as far away from you as possible with the audio lures and reboot systems when they go offline. I personally like this game because it's more controlled and skill-based than the other ones and has a lot less RNG. It also gets better the later you get into it because more Phantom animatronics are introduced as you progress. This game also has some of the best lore bits and easter eggs of all the games, which you'll see Mark slowly discover. Overall, I think you'll warm up to it pretty quickly.

That’s partially why fnaf 4 is so scary, Scott overcorrecting. 8:29 oh, hello dark, I almost forgot you crept your way into this night 15:09 it’s like a game of hide and seek chess. I know people don't like Springtrap's jumpscare, but I think it makes sense from a lore perspective. If you're truly playing as Michael in this game, it's sort of like William/Springtrap is trying to get a good look at his face. It's like he recognizes him (despite Michael also looking like a disheveled zombie, he apparently still looks human/alive enough to not raise any suspicion when he applies to all the nightguard positions) and isn't actually trying to attack him. Also, he's been trapped in the hidden back room for years, so seeing his son after so long, who is now some form of zombie may be a shock or is fascinating to him. Probably the latter, considering William may have figured something supernatural would happen to Michael after he goes into the underground "Sister Location." The fact that you lose when he sees you makes sense because of the canon Fnaf 3 ending. Canonically, you're supposed to make it though the whole week without him actually figuring out that Michael is the Fazbear Frights nightguard (he probably figures out it's Micheal at the end of the week though, based on his voice lines in Fnaf 6.) In Fnaf 3, if he gets to Michael, it makes sense that you lose. It's not really a jumpscare when that happens, but I'm perfectly fine with that. Despite the Springtrap "jumpscare" not being canon to the ending, I think the fact that he appears to recognize you and is leaning in to get a closer look, is really interesting and unique for this entry in the franchise.

YES. Mark is right. You need to click the slide bars to seal off ventilation passages to keep Springtrap out. You've already reacted to Matpat's ultimate timeline. So yes. These are the sound illusion discs at play here. That's why you need fresh air. To keep the sound illusions from making you see weird shit. At the time though, no one knew any of this. So this game was just straight up horror fuel from beginning to end. Now however, it makes a lot of sense. ALSO, NOTE THAT BALLON BOY LOOKED BURNED !! Because as Matpat said. You're playing as Michael. Who burned down the other locations after scouting them out. Hence why your visions of Balloon boy show him burned

the mini games take place before fnaf 3. They’re there for you to piece the story together. Purple guy takes out Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy. The spirits come outta them and chase purple guy then purple guy tries to hide in spring bonnie (the suit he used to lure the kids to kill them) and because he was running so much, he was sweating and you know what happens when water is mixed with a spring lock suit. The electrical components in the suit close back in and kills purple guy, leaving him dead on the floor.

FNaF 3 is one of the weaker games, yes(but only in the first couple nights.) And this is the game that creeped me out the most of the first 3 games. (FNaF 4 and Sister Location creep me out more now.) The way Springtrap is super aware because he's a mass child murderer. He still has the drive to kill and not because he's a confused child spirit out for revenge on the security guard, either. It's because he enjoys the kill, he relishes in the kill. He possibly can't wait to find another child to kill. That's what scares me. His jumpscare is mediocre. With the phantoms being way more intense jumpscares. So I completely understand you not being impressed with this one as much. But trust me it does get more intense and interesting later. And FNaF 4 is AWESOME! It'll give you nightmares, no pun intended. anyway I'm loving watching your reactions. Keep it up.

First, nothing actually happens in the first night. It's a choice from Scott to give people a chance to get used to their environment and learn some of the mechanics before actually throwing a threat at them. Second, the room that Freddy and gang can't enter that Purple Guy comes out of is the room he gets locked in. You see this at the end of this game, when the souls corner him in that back room and he goes into the suit and gets springlocked. This is one of the most pivotal game in terms of lore for the game and you can see clips of that in Game Theory videos. FNAF 3 is one of my least favorites in the franchise. I find it to be pretty obnoxious and not very scary. Springtrap's jumpscare is by far the worst. Also just generally unpleasant to look at. Everything sort of blurs together in a mess of brown/green. I think overall, I would rank the games like this from favorite to least favorite.
