@Marinette it seems like you never watched it, when her dad got akumatized she was actually worried about him, she admitted that she has no friends and that she is useless. In despair bear, we can see her backstory, her mom was never there for her and her dad spoiled her to death. In that episode, people say that Chloe was being jerk for firing the servant but can we blame her? She was being mocked by him with her teddy. She is rude to people so her mom will like her, when Audrey said "the only acceptional thing about you my dear is your mother" if you didn't even a bit sad for Chloe, it either means one thing- you really hate Chloe to a whole new level or you're a heartless monster. She still could be redeemed, but she probably won't because of how much Thomas Astuc hates her. They are basically assassinating her character. Ladybug being able to make a planet is just an exaggeration, but she could if she wanted to. One more thing, they should have explained how the qwamis were created/formed in the show not in a comic. It is very important lore about why they exist.

I've always been curious to watch this show but I've seen it get shit on constantly at every interval, so I've gotta ask. I feel like it’s sort of like RWBY. The show really did have potential, but even in the first season, it wasn’t that great. Marinette isn’t a great protagonist. She was like a Mary Sue, she has a pretty great life, (her parents owning a famous bakery, being noticed by celebrities, having lots of friends to back her up, etc.) but after multiple seasons her character starts to degrade and get worse over time. She becomes extremely creepy with Adrien. She has records of his personal life, sneaks into his house, and is so obsessive to the point where you can’t even root for her anymore as a protag. She can be a jerk to her friends, and even as Ladybug, she said that she didn’t need Cat Noir’s help even though he’s literally her sidekick and has fought countless amounts of villains with him. The show is written so bad to where you don’t like the protagonist anymore, and you’re rooting for her “evil” rival (who is written MUCH better than Marinette, but according to Miraculous’s creator, an evil character has to stay evil, and he basically scrapped Chloe’s redemption arc and we’re back to square one with her character. ) A lot of the show’s problems stems from Marinette, so yeah… I’d say that it was a dumpster fire from start to end.

I would say it's the writing progressing but only if you watch Origins, then S2, and then S3 and S4. If you go through all of S1, you might see the dumpster fire peeking through

She has an uncle that’s the “Greatest Chef in the World,” she’s acknowledged by Chloe’s mom, she babysits the daughter of a famous news reporter, her parents own the best bakery in Paris, and is best friends with someone who runs a very popular blog. Don’t tell me that doesn’t sound boring to you. Female characters can have great lives and still be interesting if they have internal conflict that contrasts with their supportive lives. The only thing that Marinette struggles with is that she has so many responsibilities with trying to balance her superhero life and her normal life which isn’t even interesting at all. Do you even know what a Mary Sue is? Their background isn’t only one contributing factor that makes a Mary Sue. It’s the fact that Marinette can cause so many damn problems and somehow escape consequences, especially with how fucking mean she can be to her friends and how she obsesses over Adrien and no one bats an eye. She’s done a lot of bad things and everything somehow ends up okay again by the end of the episode. I’m not bashing Marinette just because of how perfect her life is. She’s incredibly boring and creepy, and it makes me mad that she can run away from her problems and no one cares. Her character just pales in comparison to Juleka and Chloe, who are much more interesting than her because they have interesting internal conflicts and motivations.
