I remember it playing every morning at about 7 am right before school and the kiosks being the main places where you would get the CDs. there were also a lot of overpriced ugly-ass toys and books...which I still have. trust me when I tell you that an entire generation was raised on this...well, this, Ninja turtles (2003 version) and Ben 10. oh, btw there are movies also...with entire soundtracks. So because you seem confuse I will explain something. Winx Club has gone through different adaptions, and each version has different voice actors. There is RAI's adaptation, the 4kids one and the Nick on. The writing is the same in some aspect, but there all different. They also recently released a live action adaptation of the show called Winx: Fate Saga.

idk about y'all but i never cared for the "unrealistic body standards" in this show when i was a kid because all i noticed then was how pretty they were facially and their nice hair + outfits 😭 and i think that has to do with how normalised it already was in kids' shows, which i have to agree is pretty sad. i don't think many kids actually care for certain features at all in cartoons (small waist, long legs, etc.) so when actual moms did file complaints against winx club for that particular reason (yes they did that..) it was just pointless!

The British girl Techna is partly robotic, coming from a digital realm. You joke but Stella is royalty and her storyline involves political underhandedness. next to totally spies, Winx was surprisingly a bigger part of my childhood than I thought. Every time I went to my grandma’s in the morning on school breaks, it was always one of the best Nick shows I watched. 4kids always had a lot of nonsense with their stuff, but there's commonly places in the script where the 'censor for the kids' philosophy actually makes parts of the script make more sense than a more direct translation. I've seen this across quite a few of their shows honestly (and definitely is something I've noticed with 90s vs Viz Sailor Moon, not 4kids but similar situation). And whether or not the accents on the girls should be kept, I actually really do appreciate how you can actually tell the difference between the girls talking in the 4kds dub compared to the other dubs. The one especially, since the characters all sound really close together it's obnoxious. PIck a random clip and try to figure out who the heck is talking. If you guys wanna keep with this girls show streak, I think you'd have fun with Miraculous Ladybug, and then Mew Mew Power (4kids dub of Tokyo Mew Mew).

It is a badly deformed translation of the original Italian motto "Se tu lo vuoi tu sarai una di noi" which in English is "If you want it, you will be one of us". The English translation "If you desire, you can become one of our bunch" has managed to translate it better.

4Kids chopped up the episodes, edited them around, took away any of the moral messages that were in the original, cut out the violence, changed character's identities, which ended up killing continuity, along with completely undermining their own edits. It is kinda funny to see how lame some of the 4Kids edits were, in one ep, the character Musa slaps Icy across the cheek which leaves a red hand impression, but in the 4Kids version.... they edit out the handprint and edit in a wart 😐
