For the context, luffy literally dies in the last episode you watched. Those black empty eyes only used when a person dies in the anime, otherwise its just white blank eyes which means person is just fainted. He then comes back to life thanks to his devil fruit restarting his hearth.

I was originally worried about all the noobies deciding to hop into the hype with us and "missing out" on the huge buildup to this moment. But watching people react to this while have ZERO context is quickly becoming one of my favorite genres on youtube.

Nooo, it's so sad.. Watching that without all the context.. They could not understand the deep message behind all that. I was so surprised seeing Zunesha in Wano and now that, joyboy and the drums of liberty, I had so much goosebumps in the last 3 episodes.

Honestly, seeing the first episode and then gear 5 at least doesn't give them the any disillusion of the type of character luffy will be throughout the series. LOL He was goofy from Day 1! Toon Force Luffy is just the natural progression

Damn jumping from the first episode right to the probably most controversial of all. Im still not sure how to feel about this moment as it pushes verry heavily into the typical boring "shonen mc is gifted and nearly immortal" type, insted of of earning and archieving it by training and work as its been so far with one piece. And the sole reason for that is Luffys death and unexplained revival. Instead of the fruit reincarnating when the user dies, Luffys awakened which allowed him to bounce his heart back into (a new) rythm. It didnt awake during the battle, but he had to literally die for it which speaks against all known rules so far (even the zoan will shouldnt overcome death as the gum fruit hasnt been awakened in centuries). Luffy was out for a minute and his "voice" couldnt be heard. He got declared the loser and we got no inner thoughts (to assume just his heart stopped but hes not quit dead yet), and then he just stands up, stronger than ever and as surprised as everyone else.. Right now this just feels cheap to me and I hope it gets adressed and explained eventually.
