You have to watch at least the first 3 Rocky films They are the gold standard of the series. Rocky was released December of 1975. Star Wars was released May of 1976, 5 months apart. The steady cam was invented for Rocky. Before cameras were so big they had to be mounted on a rail system or a vehicle. The steady cam is why you get the iconic stair run and the intimacy of the fight that gives you the sense you are there.

It was actually used in Bound for Glory and Marathon Man before Rocky (and existed before all three as opposed to being made for any single film).

I saw this on the big screen when it first came out. I was sixteen, it was amazing and pretty soon it seemed like everyone was talking about it. It's so well written and holds up so well. Great to see people discovering it and having the same reactions I did.

The turtles make good soup comment by the old man is rarely appreciated. In the era of his youth, canned turtle soup was popular. Especially during the 1930’s depression era. Currently turtles are on the endangered species list and are not hunted in the US.

I’ve never watched the Creed movies but smart move starting at the beginning because you probably won’t understand references made in the newer stuff definitely with Karate kid because C-K is based on the 2 guys different side of things. Enjoy

Just watch the Karate Kid and KK II. As for Rocky there's six total. But Rocky I-IV are the best. Rocky 5 kind of stunk, but the last Rocky. Rocky Balboa is pretty good too.

Rocky 1, 2 and 3 are my personal favorites although 1 has a special place in my heart. The First and even second Karate Kid are definitely worth a watch, I didn't like the third one because Ralph Machio wasn't in it.
