The Conjuring 2 (known in the United Kingdom as The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Case)[4][5] is a 2016 American supernatural horror film, directed by James Wan. The screenplay is by Chad Hayes, Carey W. the crooked man is actually not CGI ! it's Javier Botet! he was in full costume and makeup, he just looks like CGI lol. James Wan made an instagram post about it in Nov 2022 "some people knocked the character for being CGI, I filmed him in slowmo and reverse playback, all old-school camera trickery"

Also, the warrens did some horrible things like Ed had a mistress living with them, got her pregnant and told her to get an abortion cause it will look bad on them if he had children with another woman

there was a bbc found footage/mockumentary type movie called ghostwatch that was also based on the same original story that i absolutely love and would recommend. when it premiered it had people legitimately terrified, as it's premise split back and forth between the film maker characters and a 'live' studio anchor, so the viewers didn't know that it was a movie

I saw this in theaters, and it was legitimately unsettling. My favorite aspect of the film is the sound editing. The ambient sounds and decibels change when there’s an entity in the room. It made things a little less scary as a viewer, but I also appreciated the attention to detail.

i used to live near the enfield house me, my uncle and sisters went to go visit it and there was an apparition in the window when they took the picture this was in like 2014 there was also a rumour that if u sit on that chair u die i never really understood the rumour until i watched conjuring 2

lol I’ve actually walked passed the real house that this happened in ‘cause I grew up in North London. The case was one of the most documented paranormal investigations, with police actually witnessing stuff happening in the house and neighbours testimonies. There are a bunch of documentaries and tv series about these events and it’s widely known as The Enfield Haunting or The Enfield Poltergeist.

I actually like this conjuring movie more than the others because they do show you some originality or designs like the crooked man, even if he does not look as scary in his first appearance, I like the movie not always focusing on cheap screamers (which it does have) but also other ways to show us what the characters are going through, it feels like it has some more personality at least compared to the next movies in the series
