no one talking about the other helicopter pilot reporting the collision. his reaction gave me chills. the fact that they're forced to record moments like this because it's their job is so tragic. those men were probably their friends.

The one with the helicopter news channels is so heartbreaking. Especially when you hear the one guy also covering it going … I think it was Scott…” Like imagine how awful and terrified for his friend he must’ve felt and having to see it happen right before him? What an awful blow to those victims families and friends.

However, one contestant in the unaired second season (S02E09) did answer all 21 questions truthfully to win the top prize. The contestant was Melanie Williams, a member of a secretive polygamist group. Most of the questions centered around the secrets of polygamy and what took place in the group in which Williams was a member. For $500,000, Williams' final question was whether she believed her father had sexual relations as an adult with a minor. She said she felt he did, and the lie detector determined her truthful for the grand prize.-so yes there was a worse moment then the cheating one just so you know for moment of Truth

I was 6 years old when 9/11 happened. I remember my parents telling me that someone got the brilliant idea of having all the kids watch the news feed of the planes hitting the towers, people jumping to their deaths and the towers collapsing. My mom and literally all the parents were notified to come pick their kids up because, understandably, we were starting to freak out and they had to cancel school for the day. Mom said when she picked us up my older sister was in tears and I was in straight up shock; not responding to anything. As soon as we got home mom told us both to go to our rooms and not come out until she said so. I remember hearing my dad being so angry he was swearing up a storm and was just yelling at the TV non stop when he got home from work.

FUN FACT: there was ZERO evidence that guy had a dog in that vehicle. this is VERY common practice. they make false add-on accusations that they know can never be proven or disproven, to taint someone's public image. if the guy had tried to raise awareness about the corrupt healthcare system and then killed himself, people would look to him as a hero and a martyr and agree with him wholeheartedly. case in point: watch chat agreeing with the man up to the exact point where they mentioned the dog, then chat instantly did a 180 and were against him and everything he was doing. THAT is exactly why they do it.
@gassug2

even if there was a dog in the car i dont think that makes his situation any less tragic. obviously there would have been better ways to go about that than killing your dog, but given that he was clearly driven by rage against the system and had nothing to lose, he likely wasn't even thinking that clearly. really is interesting seeing how people fall for social engineering schemes like that. granted there was no evidence that there _wasn't_ a dog in the car. but as you say, it's a common practice to lie about details like that. it irks me when people think black and white morally in situations like this

The reason why I fear planes more than cars is at least I'm driving the car, if I crash, it's my fault. Or if someone crashes into me, at least maybe I can swerve out of the way to minimize my injuries. If you're in a plane that's going to crash, you're not in control, there is literally nothing you can do. It's a helpless/unfair feeling. What makes it worse is 80% of plane crashes are due to human error. There is a high chance that your life is dependent on an overworked pilot undoing a mistake they made, or they have to solve a mistake that the air traffic controllers/mechanics made.
@pintolerance785
@pintolerance785 Жыл бұрын
And on the road you have have to deal with the decisions made by inexperienced drivers, drunk drivers, dumb drivers, bad drivers, road rage drivers. Literally anybody can drive a car: Pilots, Mechanics, Air Ttaffic controllers, go to school for years to do their jobs, and the stats show which is more dangerous since car accidents are like top 3 ways to die. 1 out of 6 people or something like that will die from car accidents. I'm taking flying over driving any day.

Your survive rate is higher on a plane then a car. Even if you take the examples if someone crashing into you with a car as minor as you explained it to be is far from the reality and just a wishful thinking you have to ease your mind. If a drunk driver which is mostly the reason why a car crashes into you, you won't survive it since they mostly tend to drive in a very high speed only if you have insane luck you might survive in a highly critical condition. About the helicopter crash - the pilots were also the reporter/commentators. So they had to 1) keep in touch w/ the station & other helicopters 2) fly the helicopter and 3) make comments on what was happening below them. Absolute insanity! Accident waiting to happen. Stations around the country changed how they report/film chases now. The most commonly adopted solution was for stations to pitch in money to share a helicopter (so everyone gets the best shot and they don't have to get so close, since this started when cameras weren't as advanced) and the news reporters IN THE STATION provide commentary.

I always thought that people are less scared of car crashes is because it gives you an illusion of control, like when people say "oh that wont happen to me i am good at driving" But on planes you put trust on someone else that you can't see during the flight making decissions

I'm pretty sure he didn't have a dog. cops use this tactic all the time. in fact they teach it. they add on these heinous accusations that can neither be proven or disproven, when they need to taint the subject's public image. usually it's done when there is a fear that the public will take the subject's side. watch how chat is originally 100% in agreement with the man about his message, then as SOON as the dog is mentioned the chat is instantly turned against him. that is the tactic i'm describing being put to work. the man instantly went from being a martyr with a wholesome message to the public about the corrupt healthcare system, to a deranged lunatic animal abuser who people hated and then they connect his message about healthcare system being corrupt to one of hate .... and all by one little accusation of "there was a dog in that vehicle too, but there's no evidence because it was all burnt up, you just have to believe us ..." there was lots of planning that lots of rich companies did before they decided to make this particular accusation and spin the story in their favor. they had to. for the shareholders. it's like right up the road from me the police did a no-knock no-warrant raid in the middle of the night against one of my neighbors. the headlines mentioned he was "charged" with counts of having explosives AND counts of child pornography ... like who is actually doing both of those things simultaneously? highly unlikely if you ask me. and there is never any mention later on if the charges were dismissed or not. which tells you for certain that they were in fact dismissed, because if they were convicted of both those charges we would certainly have heard about it. unless you can point to a single frame that decisively shows a dog in that vehicle then i am wrong about this particular case. i watched and rewatched it and can see no dog at all.

2:38 I honestly think that the reason most people are more scared of Airplanes than of Cars, is because Cars are more grounded in ''common gravity'' - (as I call it) - compared to Airplanes. As in: We humans are USED to having gravity pull us down while driving than if we're in the sky, on an Airplane. Cuz' the gravity up THERE, is waaaay more dense and adds a more ''gravitational pull'' to a person towards the Earth, than it does when we're ALREADY on the ground, in a Car. Due to, the more you go up, the greater the pressure is on your body to go back down towards the Earth! ESPECIALLY when you're up there and you're flying from THOUSANDS of feet in the air! So. Imagine you're up in an Airplane and all of a sudden, the Airplane is FALLING OUT OF THE SKY? You're DEFINITELY gonna feel a large amount of pressure on your body, from gravity pulling it down so fast! It'll feel unnatural, very confusing and you'll start to panic IMMEDIATELY because of it! ((Not to mention, the ''Horror Stories'' people tell you about flying will DEFINITELY keep you more alert and on your toes if anything goes wrong, wrost case scenario... But on the downside, you'll start to get paranoid and get really nervous because of this,😊 as well...))

The reason plane crashes are so terrifying is because 95% of the time, even if you survive the crash, you'll be stranded and left with nothing. In car crashes, at least there's this lingering feeling that someone might find you or that help will arrive in a timely manner. After a plane crash, you're pretty much disconnected from civilization in most cases, to the point where you subconciously know that help won't arrive for hours or maybe even days.

There was a news reporter in a helicopter and they were trying to get live coverage of the horrific scene and as they are recording she gets word of the crash at the Pentagon and she immediately realized her husband worked there. It was so heart breaking and scary. I can't believe that people actively say that we should forget...maybe they were in diapers or weren't even thought of when it happened. "just stay inside" yeah I usually do but the thing is, people crash cars into houses, walk into houses and kill everyone inside for no reason because they're on meth, drive by and shoot at your house (happened next door when I was a toddler and my parents moved their bed from the front to the back of the house after that). And on top of that, I live directly under the flight path for landing jets at the air force base, and they like to train flying ospreys, not sure why since those were discontinued and never used in ANY application except to train pilots over residential areas.. why were they discontinued? They're extremely easy to crash. So I'm more likely to die here in my house than anywhere else lol, all it is is a wood frame covered in an inch of drywall and plaster, a big enough guy could just punch through the wall like the Terminator, even our locks are mostly just for peace of mind, they wouldn't do shit.

16:54 If I remember my history of broadcasting class correctly, at this time the helicopter pilot was also the reporter. So with the cameraman and the reporter both focusing on the action on the ground there was no one left to focus on what was happening in the air around them. This is what changed that so there was now a requirement that there be a separate pilot whose only job was flying the helicopter and communicating with any other helicopters in the area so they don’t crash into anything, especially each other.

When I was three years old, my mom was flying back home from Chicago, but the plane got into some intense turbulence and the plane actually started to fall in the sky and everyone started screaming and crying. My mom even thought to herself that she wouldn’t be able to witness her only child’s third Christmas. Luckily, the plane managed to fly smoothly only 15 seconds later, but no one spoke the rest of the flight.

Honestly, plane crashes are more terrifying than car crashes cause, just cause a car hits something doesn't mean you'll die, there's plenty of ways and severities of car crashes, so people survive them a lot; but plane crashes, those are almost always devastating b/c it's a giant machine FALLING FROM THE SKY. A car and slow down or swerve and do any number of things to try and lessen the impact. But you, can't avoid the ground in a plane crash. Gravity will win. And plane/helicopter crashes being nearly always fatal is probably why you hear about them more than car crashes. A car crashes and you can survive it, or have a better chance of it. But a plane? Barring some very lucky instances (like the plane crashing before it picked up speed/got into the air), a plane crashing is devastating.

I think a major reason why plane crashes are more scary is that the odds of surviving a plane crash are much lower than the odds of surviving a car crash. In most cases, everyone or nearly everyone on the plane dies. The only vehicle type with a lower accident survival rate, to my knowledge, is submarines.

I think plane crashes are a big deal because it’s a mass amount of people who all usually meet very graphic and horrifying deaths. Many also survive the initial impact and die while waiting for first responders to show up. I think we also think about the fear the passengers felt while the plane was going down, if it didn’t explode in air.

i think part of what makes airplanes so much scarier compared to cars is how unnatural it feels. even though you're way more likely to die in a car accident than a plane crash, airplanes are unfamiliar to most people. with driving being such a big part of many people's lives, they are used to it and the danger that comes with it. they are used to tires on a road, but not incredibly large and complex tubes flying through the sky at high speeds and altitudes. the average person does not get on a flight nearly as often as they get into a road vehicle. and yes, the sensationalism of airplane crashes definitely contributes to the collective fear. it also worth it to note that a lot of the worst (and most memorable) airplane crashes are not two or three people, it's 70 or 100 or more. they end in huge fireballs that leave streaks on the sides of mountains, or leave nothing behind at all, maybe some debris on a faraway beach years later or a plane shaped blob on a radar scan of the ocean floor. the amount of information and evidence (or lack of) following a plane crash can leave nothing or everything to the imagination. recent events with boeing and the general quality decrease in products due to capitalism probably hasn't helped much either.

They got plane ride tickets for a wedding gift her husband went the day before because they flipped a coin to see who would go first because only one could go at a time…. Her parents were there her husband was recording… he recorded her getting on the plane… her in the plane….. and then the crash….. it was at an air show…. What blew my mind besides the event itself… was that it was before the air show started that day… and they had the scene cleaned up in less than an hour… the air show went on and most weren’t even aware that something happened… this was in June 2001…. And we all know what happened in September 2001…9/11….that year is why I’m terrified of flying….

I think that the reason we don't have as much fear & anxiety about car crashes as we do with plane crashes is because when it's with cars, we have either more control or at least the illusion of more control. We are either the driver, in which case we know there's usually something we can do to prevent or avoid an accident. Or, we are a passenger, and The majority of the time, we are familiar with the person driving, with a few exceptions. We can know either from prior experience or within a few minutes of driving with them if they are a decent driver, how many safety guidelines or driving laws they follow versus ignore. We can even talk to them if something they do causes anxiety or if they're driving dangerously, although of course that doesn't mean they'll listen. Basically, we can see them driving, see where we're going and what's going on around us, so that even if we technically don't have much control of the vehicle as a passenger, there's the illusion that we have more control. Compare this to a plane, where not only can we not see the pilot and most of the time cannot see much around us besides the sky or clouds or the earth far below us, we can't see what's ahead of us that we're flying into, we can't predict/notice turbulence like we would a speed bump or pothole in a car. Even more, we don't even understand (at least anyone who isn't a pilot doesn't understand) the mechanics of how the plane actually flies, how piloting the plane works, who our pilot is, what their qualifications are, whether they're a good pilot or not, if they're following safety rules and laws are not. Not only do we not have control but we don't even really have an awareness of what's going on around us and with the "driver" (pilot). If something goes wrong, we also don't have any way to escape. Sure, jumping out of a moving vehicle if it's even moderate speeds is not a viable option, But at least if your car is on fire or is it a dangerous position due to an accident, you can climb out and walk away assuming you aren't trapped or injured. Can't do that with a plane. It plays on people's sense of helplessness. And two last things - there's also the fact that while plane crashes are exponentially less common than car crashes, when a plane has a major issue and crashes your chances of surviving are exceedingly slim. It's not uncommon for a handful of people to survive out of a flight of dozens or even hundreds of people. Car crashes are definitely serious and kill a lot of people, but statistically most car crashes don't kill people and many don't even seriously injure people. The last thing, it's also frightening to think that loved ones and those responsible for flight safety might never know what happened to us, or even find our bodies. A lot of flights that crash, we can hypothesize about what happened, but even with thorough investigations often there are questions that remain and sometimes there's not even enough evidence to sort out what even caused the accident. Sometimes the plane is never even found if it lands in the ocean or the middle of a dense forest or mountain, it's not rare for people's bodies to never be recovered. That can happen with car crashes, if it say sank into the ocean or something, but it's definitely not common. You can usually rest assured that if you die in a car crash your family will at least know what happened in almost all cases. Anyway, that's just my thoughts, interested to know what other people think.

5 months late but thought I'd weigh in one the fear of flying discussion. I think other people mentioned that when we are passengers in a plane, we don't have any control over what's happening. That's absolutely part of it. Hell, when a lot of these crashes occur, even the pilots don't have control. That's terrifying. I grew up flying - my mum flew when she was pregnant with me (early days, no dangers) and I would have taken multiple flights before I was even a year old. My brothers were the same (they actually got airlifted at only a few hours old so they win). Here's where my specific fear comes in - I'm not American, but 9/11 affected a lot of people. I was only around five years old but I vaguely remember being told about it in school and it was always on the tv, even in a foreign country. My mum tells me that that's when I started being scared of flying. I have to wonder if other people around my age were affected - old enough to understand what had happened but young enough to not really remember it properly. It's interesting though because my younger brothers never had the same fear. It probably didn't help that my dad loves the show Air Crash Investigation and I remember that playing through my childhood as well. That being said, it's one of my favourite shows now and I find it strangely comforting. There's definitely something to be said about plane crashes being over reported, but that's also because of how rare they are and that, when they do happen, there's a huge loss of life. I'm still a nervous flyer but I find different ways to keep myself calm - I sit within five rows of an exit if I can, I distract myself with music or films or other activities, always keep my seatbelt on, and I watch the flight attendants. If the flight attendants are calm, I'm calm. Of course none of this would matter if an extreme event occurred with no warning, but I can't control that and I can only hope that it would be quick. If there's one thing that is hard for humans to accept and deal with, it's not being in control.

Daniel Jones story has stuck with me for years, it’s one of the things I think about especially with stuff like the CEO assassination and people speaking up about HMO’s, insurance and healthcare toying with their health and lives. Daniel’s in real life friends hardly knew about his health issues, he complained about suffering as a result of his symptoms and hardly got help when calling his provider with dealing with a cancer growth on his neck. I disagree with Pig and chat dunking on Daniel, I don’t believe his dog should’ve been brought with him as a dog owner myself. I couldn’t bring myself to bring my dog down with me but also I’ve lost people in my life due to them trying to end their suffering, they aren’t rational and often just don’t want to die alone. I had one incident with my elderly neighbor trying to get my dad in contact and not wanting to be alone before he lit himself on fire. People suffering like this, you never know what drastic things they’ll do when they feel helpless or tired of living. I wish Daniel didn’t have to feel like this was the only way, but he was right that healthcare doesn’t care about your lives unless it benefits their pocket. Please, check up and reach out to your friends and family. 🙁
