And Thorin Oakenshield had his final redemption. According to the book, he was buried like you saw at the end, with the Arkenstone over the chest, and with his legendary sword Orcrist, the goblin-cleaver. In his farewell... I always cry. A true KING. PD: In the theatrical version, scenes like Thorin´s funeral, weren´t included in the footage. That was a real shame. We only saw these scenes in the extended version later.

Same reason Rings of Power being attacked where there is not much to base it on due to enclopedia alike nature of the 2nd age writing of Tolkien with just names, dates of the battles and no story arc for any of the characters involved. Hobbit was disliked for that It had introduced Tauriel to include love story in the arc while making benefit of Orlando Bloom's Legolas. Initial plan was also 2 movies. You may have liked the Hobbit more because it includes more entertainment for the very nature of It's books which does not have the same dark ambiance that the Lord of the Rings have.

@@DevinGtv901 Saruman is also still good here, but his fascination with the Ring slowly corrupted him. Later he came to believe he should possess it, to help defeat Sauron. And eventually decided - there was no way to do that. Not any time soon, anyway.

​@@DevinGtv901 I agree with you on Bilbo doing better than Frodo but I just have to say that the Hobbit series didn't get even close to the same cinematic level as the LOTR which has a better story structure, better main characters and all of the movies were tied up together way better. And well the hobbit was written initially as a children's book and while it included battles actually the dwarves band it focuses on were mostly not in forefront of them while in LoTr it is more for adults hasva much more grim side and largely war aspects . And i am of course talking books, not the adaptation.

@@DevinGtv901 They changed important and entertaining things from the book like complete removal of the talking -purse the trolls had and then added needless things like the other wizard and who knows what else. I forget. Read the book though, it's not super long but the way it's worded tells a story that could indeed fill three movies and the book is superbly written. Peace.

It doesn’t get enough love. If you compare it to virtually any other film made in the last 20 years it has good writing, good acting, a good story. It only struggles because of comparison with LoTR, but that was written for a different audience, and was the pinnacle.

Galadriel is over 7-10k years old by the time the hobbit and lord of the rings happens. Shes much more mature and calmed. Tolkien wrote that she was of amazonian disposition in her youth. Which is what we somewhat see in the rings of power amazon tv show. but while frodo was taking the ring to mt doom, galadariel, elrond and the dwarves were fighting in the north, where sauron was using the goblin king at dol goldur. When frodo destroyed the ring, she teleported to the battlefield at dol goldur and summoned a lightning storm and tornado and destroyed the entire fortress. She was trained by the valar and maiar in valinor. Not much is known of her actual powers and tolkien passed away before he ever elaborated, but he described as one the most powerful elves

Balin, the old dwarf was the one in the tomb that the fellowship went to in Moria, he’s who Gimili cried over in the tomb, Ori was also in that room. The one holding the book that Gandalf read from moments before the corpse fell into that well that woke up the orcs.

Bilbo was able to use the ring much more freely as Its Dark Master had not yet returned so like its time with Golem it was much easier to use without consequences.... Frodo however uses the ring while it is calling out to its risen master the Eye!!! It wanted to be found and go back to him making it much more difficult and risky to use!!! Being a burden on its user corrupting them... Even Bilbo in lord of the ring Attacks Frodo and Gandalf to try and get it back or keep it!!

The author originally set out to illustrate the vice of greed with the "Hobbit." Then to illustrate the vice of the lust for power in "the Lord of the Rings."

Sauron and Saruman were NOT working together at this point. Fili, Kili, and Thorin had to die as they died in the book. Previous adaptations actually killed more than them, including what is considered the best adaptation, an animated movie that killed 7 of Thorin & Company instead of 3.

I agree that Bilbo, particularly the younger Bilbo, is more likable than Frodo. In The Lord of the Rings timeline, the new King of Erebor; Dain, and Bard of Lake-town defend against the bulk of Sauron’s forces sent to the north. The armies of Sauron eventually withdraw after realizing the Ring has been cast into Mount Doom. This event, which takes place simultaneously in the north, was not shown in The Lord of the Rings.

If you're not comparing the Hobbit trilogy to the actual book, I supposed they're alright, but they're complete sh*t as far as adaptations go. Where the LOTR trilogy sinned by leaving parts of three books out, The Hobbit trilogy sinned by packing a single book worth of source material full of junk just to get 3 movies out of it.

I actually think there is/was enough story in the Hobbit book to make three movies the way that the book is worded but they left out the good stuff and went with other crap not even in the book. Oh well. Maybe in another lifetime.

I don't understand the hate for the hobbit, yes I understand it might not be the lotr but hear me out, looking at the rings of power. In hindsight we should be thankful for something that is genuinely close to the original and propper to the middle earth universe. I mean put the 3 next to each other and lotr and the hobbit are amazing and the rings of power doesn't even come close

You keep forgetting that The Hobbit trilogy is a prequel that showed the events of the ring before Frodo got it and before Sauron got to Sauroman. Sauroman wasn’t always bad. They talk about it in all 3 parts of LOTR.

Great trilogy, nothing will replicate first trilogy (LoTR) but this was still excellent. Smaug was a great dragon too, arrogant and intimidating.

As a kid, I read The Hobbit first and fell in love with Bilbo as a character. I love the LOTR books too but Frodo did not match up to young Bilbo imho.

The hobbit will never be better than lotr but I think people prefer it cos it's more "updated" visuals, props etc but apart from the dwarves dying it doesn't convey that emotion all 3 lotr has

i still angry the fact that they made Tauriel a somewhat main characters and made a love triangle between her, killi and legolas 🙄 she might got more screen time than legolas the actual character made by tolkien even though he was not mentioned in the book. the love story between Tauriel and Legolas felt so forced, idk ... it felt like "just dump some love scene in between the movie, i don't care where and when", and the fact that Thranduil warned her not to seduce Legolas THEN she seduce killi was uuuuhhhhh (i know she wasn't technically seducing, it felt that way to me). the fact that she used Legolas' soft heart towards her and in the name of "saving the world" to get her butt to killi ... idk about that as well ... don't get me wrong, i like the trilogy, it's just they don't need to sprinkle love triangle there, it can be just "tauriel fell for killi the momet she laid her eyes on him" not "oh ok, then, i guess i'll go for the 2nd option, killi, since i didn't get Thranduil's approval & blessing" 🙄 and honestly, i need more of "thranduil fighting scenes" he's so dope in fight. great reaction buddy! i'm subscribing 😉. alright, regarding Saruman, he USED to be good, and in Dol Guldur fight scene is where we see the last of saruman's sanity before he chose to sided with Sauron. when he said "Leave Sauron to me" is where we bid our farewell to good saruman.

Devin was a volunteer soldier. He doesn't understand that frodo is a civilian in the middle. And frodo is a little disappointing honestly, even if all he did was preordained by Iluvitar and necessary. Bilbo became a fighter.

In my opinion, The Hobbit was okay, but should have only been (1 movie) Book wasn’t that long. The Hobbit had Too much CGI, added characters and love triangle, idiotic characters. Lord Of the Rings was pretty much flawless. Only thing that stands out to me is Smaug….

@@DevinGtv901 my preference is lord of the rings. As far as I think it was better funded the battles were way better and storyline as well. That being said the hobbit movies are great the Easter eggs in the movies that reference lotr and I like how they focused on the history of the dwarfs a bit . I think the only problem with the movies is the orcs looked more kiddish that the ones in lord of the rings i think that’s just because of the budget. But all in all great reaction bro always love your content. Keep up the good work and keep them coming!

@@fishinman539 the budget there may sound confusing. They had bigger budget on the Hobbit and much better computer technology in comparison to that of late 90's early 00's. Problem was that Jackson for this time decided to use CGI instead of practical effects which ended up in failure. If Guillermo Del Toro was not withdrawn from the project he had much better design for the Orcs and darker theme at overall giving more LOTR alike vibe.
