NOTE: You can investigate at a location, even if there are no clue tokens there (which may help you trigger some other card effects). Also, assigning and applying damage/horror is a two step process. This allows you to assign both damage AND horror to an asset (let's say, for example the Beat Cop at 24:47) before it is discarded.

I was under the impression that the game had limited replayability once you've played a scenario. Am I wrong?
@dominicklauzon41333 жыл бұрын
@@DWRoelands totally replayable. First off, each scenario does not necessairly put all locations in play at each stage and some events are also sometimes randomized. Then rerunning with a different set of investigators can affect the dynamics quite a bit. I would think rerunning campaigns 3 times keeps the game fresh, then you can add affordable Return To boxes which adds/complements/adjusts for another good 3-4 reruns for each campaigns. Then the awesome standalone scenarios like Excelsior Hotel, Rougarou, War of the Elder Gods, etc… plenty of replayability and the new all inclusive format is like 30% cheaper than the old business model with 1000% less the grief to find the content.
@WatchItPlayed3 жыл бұрын

If you bought the core set and haven’t yet played it, watch this video before playing. Yes, all 43 minutes, you’ll save yourself time. I read the rules to teach myself and it took me 4 hours to get through the first scenario (which now takes about 20 minutes). Rodney does an excellent job of connecting the different mechanics so that the rules make intuitive sense. Grade A tutorial.
@WatchItPlayed3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the kind recommendation! It's a big video, but my hope is that it still saves quite a bit of time from having to go through the rule book, and hopefully the visuals add to the clarity.

Agreed, we completed our first scenario in 2 hours after reading the rules. After seeing this video, it cleared up a lot of questions we had during the playthrough and pointed out the ways we were playing incorrectly lol. 35:54 Small correction. Each investigator in player order draws a card from their deck. If those cards have a revelation effect, you must resolve them at this time. Then after everyone has drawn their card (and resolved their effect if present), each player gains a resource. This is important especially for the weakness card "Paranoia", which causes you to lose all of your resources as soon as you draw it. But since you gain a resource after, and not before, you will have at least 1 resource available on your next turn. BTW drawing a card and gaining a resource in the Upkeep Phase is mandatory.

"New to Board gaming, my first one (Game in this Video) is arriving tomorrow, I've been a (Video) Gamer all my life and play exclusively Single player games and never thought of board/card games as also having support for me thus never getting into it until finding that out recently. I am house bound because of agoraphobia and don't have any friends other than family due to social anxiety so I'm leaning toward these 1 player + format games. I'd like to know, are there any MUST HAVE games that cater to the single player? I like the look of the Dune game but it's out of stock at the moment, that one seems very interesting as I read it has a "Simulated" opponent. Another question, do the expansion packs come as stand alone titles for Arkham Horror or are they all meant to be integrated into the base game?"

Thank you kindly for the very nice words about the video. Appreciated! The new box does not have updated cards (as I understand it) - nothing is changed in terms of rules, but the number and types of cards is different (there are additional cards from some of the later sets built in). It also includes a bag, and much improved layout to the rules (and a lead investigator token). I just went to the site and still say trayz. Perhaps they added some more? boardgamegeekstore.com/?aff=2

Okey I saw 3 video guides 7,15 and 20 minutes because 43 min was too long…. After that I watched your video and I will never watch shorter or any other guide then yours! You explain everything I dont get with perfect editing and informations! You earn sub and big fan :)

It is a fine line - I never want a video to be longer than it has to be, but I also want to ensure the time you're spending watching is truly helping you understand and lock those rules in as much as possible. Thank you for the very kind comment and welcome!

Your videos just keep getting better and better, Rodney. You're the king of teaching games! If you don't mind giving up the goods, what's your camera/lighting setup these days? Loving the look of these.

Finally! My go-to channel for learning new games covered this game! I tried learning this game during this darn pandemic via the hard way (by watching a LOT of youtube tutorials and playthroughs). I am just so happy for others who haven't yet tried this game! Your channel is still the best in learning new games. You make it so clear and easy. I especially love how you make it flow smoothly, i.e., aptly raising questions as the one watching might be thinking and answering and explaining them right away almost all the time. I also admire your continued humility on always welcoming corrections as needed to make your videos better. And man! I can really say the production quality of your videos now has been phenomenal compared to the starting days of your channel! But high quality production and excellent content aside, it's still the sense of this channel having a heart that makes me enjoy its videos even in its early days. You really seem to always care a lot for everyone to learn these games.😊 Thanks again, Sir, for your videos! A hopeful new year to you and your family!🌈
