My girlfriend and I both work at a hospital and we are just mentally fried right now. These last couple weeks have been hell and it's not going to get better soon. People are scared, morale is shot and we don't have enough supplies/beds to safely treat people. I had the legacy version of this game laying around and we started playing it at night just for something to joke about in these crappy times. I just wanted to give a sincere thank you Rodney for teaching us how to play and giving us something to laugh about and get our minds off work. I hope you and your family stay safe in these trying times.

My game came on Monday. We played our first game and actually won!!! Definitely working together helped. We were able to cure all four diseases. We decided to see if we could eradicate before "losing again." Not so easy that. We ended up losing by outbreaks. But now I have also loaded the game on my iPad and play in my down time. This is a great game!!!! Thanks again Rodney, your detailed and well done explanations make it easy to learn to play, and also expose us to new games (to us) that we have not heard of, or like in this case, one that we had been looking at but were unsure of, and now we can't wait to play again!!

Question for you, in your outbreak scenario, what happens if both Tehran and Karachi already have 3 cubes and Delhi is forced to outbreak. Do they chain reaction eachother and force Delhi to re-outbreak? Or do they technically both get “outbroken” at the same time from Delhi meaning they don’t chain to each-other? Hope that makes sense!
@WatchItPlayed Жыл бұрын
Check this section of the video as it should answer your question. Both would outbreak, but remember, during a chain of outbreaks from a card flip, a city that itself already had an outbreak doesn't receive another cube (it can't re-outbreak during that same card flip): kzbin.info/www/bejne/pZvOhJaGoMmaqc0feature=shared&t=843

Played tonight and wanted to confirm - for “shared knowledge” 2 (or more) players MUST be in same city and can only move THAT city card either to or from their deck. So the advantage Researcher role gives you is that it’s ANY city card you can move? Do I have that right?
@WatchItPlayed2 жыл бұрын
That’s right (but instead of saying the card is moved from a deck, remember, it comes from your hand).

Great video! Makes a lot of things very clear. Just one question: For example, if you don’t see a yellow cube during the setup (so there are no yellow cubes on the board), is the yellow disease automatically eradicated?
@WatchItPlayed3 жыл бұрын
Nope, remember, to eradicate a disease you need to also have the cure.

Im confused about the outbreak. "All the cities connected to the city" aren't they all connected to each other. The white lines go everywhere. Or is a triangle considered the connecting cities?
@WatchItPlayed5 жыл бұрын
It means the cities "directly" connected the the city that is outbreaking. So if Atlanta is out-breaking, for example, the disease will spread to Chicago, Washington and Miami (because those are the 3 cities that are directly connected to Atlanta).

I did not get the meaning of first commonly overlooked rule stating that You do not draw replacement card after drawing an epidemic card. What's the meaning of this? Can you explain this by giving an example if possible?
@WatchItPlayed3 жыл бұрын
It just means that when you draw 2 cards on your turn, if one of them is an Epidemic card, it still counts as one of the 2 cards you were meant to draw (you don't get to draw an extra, since one of them was an Epidemic card).

Hi Rodney, When a player has seven cards and it’s their turn to draw two cards from the player deck, do they have to discard one card at a time as they draw a new card to comply with the hand limit rule, or discard two cards at once after completing the drawing?
@WatchItPlayed3 жыл бұрын
You draw the top 2 cards together.

Great video, Still had questions, Is there a timer for each move of the group or player to take? (from what I learned, no, you just take the time to think your next move with the group), can disease cross borders in color (appears they can when a contagioun spread happens). Looks like I am ready to give this a go.
@WatchItPlayed11 ай бұрын
Hey, sorry, I'm not quite sure that you mean by "do players choose the cards they want to play?". Can you give me a time stamp to a section of the video where you're uncertain if the player gets to choose the card they are playing (are you asking if people are forced to randomly play cards from their hands? If so, no, you always pick the card you are playing with a related action? Also not quite sure what you mean by a timer for moves? Are you asking if players "must make a decision with 3 minutes, or their turn is skipped?" If so, no, there's no rules like that. You have as long as you need. Of course, if you take 30 minutes, the other players might start to get annoyed :) Yes, a disease can cross borders in color (if say, there is an Outbreak). Let me know if that covers it, or if you have follow up questions.

What happens if (like we had last night on our first playthrough): an outbreak occurs in London as it already has 3 blue cubes. Paris has 2, Madrid has 3. You place a cube on Paris (making it 3). You need to place a cube on Madrid but you can't, so a chain reaction occurs. You now need to put one on Paris but you've just placed one on Paris. Does another outbreak occur? Or should you play Madrid first and simply place a blue cube on Paris to make that city up to 3? Hope this makes sense.
@WatchItPlayed6 жыл бұрын
Hey Scott, at 13:53, I think you’ll find an example like that in the video. Basically, during an outbreak, a city that already outbreaks, during that same outbreak, doesn’t outbreak again. So in your example above, when Madrid outbreaks because Paris outbreaks, Madrid doesn’t cause Paris to outbreak again, because it just did, as a part of that same chaining outbreak. Hope that helps!
@Geronimo2Fly5 жыл бұрын
An outbreak would occur at London, and you would place a third cube on Paris, as well as one cube on each of Essen and New York. You would also need to place a cube on Madrid, but since Madrid already has three cubes, another outbreak would occur, and you would place another cube on New York, one on Sao Paulo and one on Algiers (but not London because it already had an outbreak). You would also need to place on on Paris, but since Paris now has three cubes (due to the outbreak from London), it also outbreaks, and you would place another cube on Essen, one on Milan, and one on Algiers. Nothing would go to London or Madrid since they already had outbreaks. So, that one "chain" would cause three outbreaks (London, then Madrid, then Paris). (For example's sake, let's just pretend that Algiers had started with two blue cubes. After the outbreak at Madrid, it would have three. Then after the outbreak from Paris, Algiers would also outbreak, and BLUE cubes would be placed on Istanbul and Cairo. Even though Algiers is black, the outbreak is in the color blue so only blue cubes would be placed. By this time, you would probably have lost the game due to running out of blue cubes. However, if Algiers had started with two black cubes, then at the end of the three outbreaks, it would have two black cubes and two blue cubes and it would not have had an outbreak.)

14:25 Something is unclear. If I'm not mistaken, the Hungarian rulebook says that you don't have to add any other cubes to the cities which were already impacted in the initial outbreak. Wouldn't that mean that you don't add one to Karachi? Since the city already received one in the same chain of outbreaks.
@WatchItPlayed5 жыл бұрын
Sorry, I can't really help with rule translations from other languages. This video gives you the correct rules, so it could be that there was a translation error for the Hungarian version.
@RonaiHenrik5 жыл бұрын
@@WatchItPlayed no, you misunderstand me :) I don't need help in translations. I just need the correct rule. So let's say the city next to Karachi has an outbreak. You put cubies to the cities next to the city with the outbreak (including Karachi). Because of this, another city next to Karachi has an outbreak. If I understand the rules correctly (as written in the Hungarian rule book), Karachi will *not* receive *another* cubelet, since it already has received one in the same chain of outbreaks. Do I understand this part correctly, or in other words: is the Hungarian rule book accurate?
@WatchItPlayed5 жыл бұрын
@@RonaiHenrik I think what may be confusing me about your question, is that this example is covered in the video. So I assumed you had to be asking about a different kind of situation. Is this what you're asking about: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pZvOhJaGoMmaqc0
@RonaiHenrik5 жыл бұрын
@@WatchItPlayed yes, indeed. If I'm not mistaken, Karachi should only receive 1 cubie, in the first outbreak. If I interpret the Hungarian rulebook correctly. It basically says if a city has already received a cube (i.e. if it was already impacted by the chain), it should not receive a second cube during the same chain of outbreaks. I wonder what the original rule should be, or if my interpretation is the correct one. We have played some games since, this always comes up. We always follow my interpretation, so we only place one cube, even if both outbreaks should impact a given (Karachi in your example) city. I hope I'm clear about what the object of my confusion is :/
@WatchItPlayed5 жыл бұрын
Henrik Rónai Yep, I’m clear on your question. The way we show it in the video is correct. This is confirmed by the English rules (they show a full example that includes this type of situation, maybe the Hungarian translation doesn’t show it, or translates it incorrectly?), but perhaps more importantly, we checked the video with the designer and publisher before publishing it. You can play according to what we’re showing with confidence. Have fun!

Question! When mixing action cards, I noticed a lot of them are same colours in a row. Should we 're mix them than? Was only 2-3 turns away for winning .

Hey Mantas, I'm not sure quite what you mean by action cards. Do you mean the infection cards? Either way, yeah, the decks should be thoroughly shuffled. And hey, being 2- turns away from winning on your first game - that's pretty good! Keep it up!
