I like how Todd and Jesse are exact opposites in that Todd is very well behaved always showing manners, but is a cold sociopath who enjoys to torture and murder people with no remorse. Jesse on the other hand is behaves disrespectfully, calling everyone a bitch including his mom, smoking weed Saul Goodman's waiting lounge so that he doesn't have to wait, and he has a soft heart, doesn't like to harm people. I'm not saying he can't behave, he clearly can at the right time & place like when he applied for a job in season 1, and applied for the house when Jane was still a total stranger.

@cami49744 жыл бұрын
@@Cobra_125 I'm not sure if he doesn't understand or just doesn't care. I'd vote for the second. He understands what he does, that why he has these akwards apologies ("sorry for your loss" / "nothing personnal" and so). When they look at Jesse's confession tape, he's has an evil smile on his face when Jesse talks about the murder of Drew Sharp. He wants to be the one torturing Jesse ("I'll take care of the job") and look how mercyless he was. He's polite but he's not nice, just well mannered. I think he understands the harm he does to people, he's purposefully terrorizing Skyler to be sure she won't talk, torure Jesse to be sure he'll be an obedient and efficient slave-cook, rewards purity with ice scream, etc. he knows what he does, he knows how to make someone feel good or bad, he just absolutely doesn't care the least I think.
@Cobra_1254 жыл бұрын
@@cami4974 Could be, I guess it depends on interpretation. To me, he never really seemed to enjoy evil itself or anything. He followed his uncle's codes, and he understood enough to realize people didn't like what he did. But the way he apologizes is quite genuine, just way too casual for the situation. And if he understood how much harm he does to Jesse, he wouldn't have turned his back on him leading to his death. I think the only times we ever see real emotion from Todd are when someone he likes is threatened (Walter, Jesse) or when he crushes on Lydia. Otherwise, his whole vibe to me is "I'm just kinda here, sorry Jack told me to kill you." You have a point about the Skyler conversation tho. He clearly knew how to scare her

I think it's interesting that a lot of Gus' enforcers (all villains, thus pertaining to this video) are very organized like him. I think it's very likely that characters like Victor and Tyrus were former military because of how orderly they behave. I think it makes them more menacing that their operation is so cautious whereas the Salamancas are the exact opposite: loud, obnoxious, they want to make a noisy example out of you but you can prepare for them. Guys like Victor, Tyrus and Gus fly completely under the radar and are every bit if not more ruthless.

For me, Todd has to be number 1. It's a bit basic to say he's generally an evil person....he shows he's genuinely kind and humble at times, without this being a deliberate act as a false sense of security measure. But he is clearly insane, and I think the actor, no matter his appearance in El Camino, performed it to perfection. Although saying that, I've seen a few interviews with the actor Jesse Plimmons, and he actually seems rather insane anyway, so I guess it wasn't really acting.

Todd/Nacho/Hector are my three favorite antagonists. Todd is the heartless killer that still has a boyscout like innocence to him.
