I think because of Jimmy's so-called references to the Devil, in the music, he's saying that if you believe in one extreme, literal interpretation of Heaven, then you need to account for the opposite on the circle. Not believe in it, necessarily. They're not saying they believe or support the Devil. Or that they, themselves, believe in Heaven or Hell in the literal sense. But many do.

Trolland Drump I definitely agree with you that page was awesome. I always wonder if Eddie Van Halen ever got to meet him I would love to have them to play together The biggest insult Jimi Hendrix what a damn joke. Give an electric guitar to any toddler that’s three years old could do a far better job Birthdays with this political correctness. White guys can’t play basketball. And black guys can’t play guitar My fantasy would to be have Jimmy page Eddie Van Halen pat Benatar and Martina McBride all do a show

Sorry but: Shredding to me isn't musical. People have been 'Shredding" for over 50 years.but the term "Shredding " was born recently, in the last 10years or so. I'd much rather play & listen to 1 or 2 Soulful musical notes, than someone just a super fast player playing scales without a tempo, grooves or any musical constructed rhythms/ beats...shredding isn't music...to me as a player of 55 years.

@nigelthethomas589 Jimmy Page really was not a very good live guitarist. Some of the songs on Led Zeppelin studio albums are magical. Eddie Van Halen had a bigger influence than Hendrix and Page both playing style and industry standards guitars, amps, pickups and pedals. Hendrix Band of Gypsies is a terrible album. Some of the songs Jimmy Hendrix 3 studio excluding Smash Hits are pretty fucking good, but his career doing his own thing was pretty short.

How about all genres of guitar 🎸? I'm not a big country fan but I have heard some of the GOAT guitarist influenced by Chet Atkins and Roy Clark. If you haven't heard these guys. Check em out. Roy Clark's performance on the TV show "The odd couple". Check out a documentary on Chet. That cat plays the bass notes on the 4th,5th and 6th strings, the melody on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th and lead 1st, 2nd and 3rd simultaneously. His use of hammer ons', pull offs, vibrato, and fingering on the neck with both hands were not know to most at that time and his accuracy is unparalleled. Something to do while on lockdown thanks to covid 19. We need to come together as a people regardless of our political beliefs. Whether you may or may not like that orange headed clown in the White House. I sure wouldn't want to be in his shows or ANY other Presidents shoes through this pandemic. Just as we as a country were enjoying the lowest unemployment rates in many years, the increased income for poc in businesses, highest earnings ever, prison reform, trade deals that DIDN'T start a trade war as the MSM predicted etc. The saddest part is while the onslaught by the left on Trump to get him out of office wasted multimillions of tax payer money. He's not presidential nor an articulate spokesman but he's a business man. Living in a free market economy, that's Exactly what we need. Maybe just maybe this insidious virus will have some lasting effect on us as a people in a positive way. 🙏✌️💜😀 Hope and music!

In My Opinion The fact that you love them doesn't mean they're good. I know their works well and they are fine but probably not in the big Ten for a number of obvious reasons, but not even those on Mojang's list, but they are very iconic guitarists and so they are on the list .a very common mistake in people is to think that the fastest guitarists are better than the slower ones. Not in this case but still; they chose the most iconic ones which is wrong. There are a lot of small ,unknown guitarists that are twenty times better than jimi hendrix with all of the respect and there is a lot of it. But in the end , after the Sound ,complexity and creativity it's all about personal taste so there are no "best". So don't get offended. this list is not really a list of "best, it's a list of most "iconic" Edit: sorry about the bad English

What sets Ritchie Blackmore apart is his art of improvisation at the highest level. His art is, he improvises at high speed and almost flawlessly and combines musicality with aggressiveness in a spectacular way. Thanks to KZbin and the live versions, many people (and me) only realized how good it is and how much fun it is to hear it and to continue to discover it. He's unique and so are other guitarists. I enjoy a lot of guitarists and Ritchie Blackmore. Anyone who knows nothing but his favorites has slept through the world !!!!

Needless to say!, these sort of lists are fraught for being so personal and arbitrary, but I do note that Hendrix is at #1 on virtually every list. I have personally never even listened to Hendrix, but feel that one needs only to see him play once, to realise that irrespective of the combined greatness of others, his headspace and fingers really were in some different universe.

The lyrics from the first album onward suggest that he came in on a spaceship for a little visit to the Third Stone from the Sun, looked around (Up From the Skies), and saw a world that had burned. "Well maybe it's just a change of climate". "I had been been here before, in the days of ice". Maybe he really was from another universe. His guitar playing sure was, and remember, nobody had heard anything like this before. He was WAY ahead of his time. I still listen to, and miss him.

His sound change the rock game since the Yardbirds with every record with Truth & Beckola, JBG2, BBA and Blow by blow and all the records he makes until his death in this year. No mention Jeff Beck is envy, because can’t be emulated and you can certify this when you make a blind test all guitarist sound like others but Beck sounds like Beck. I'd love to of seen John Frusciante on this list, at least as an honorable mention, and I'd say SVR should of been a bit higher but that's my opinion..

Budi Setiawan depends on the context, jimi is better then srv in terms of innovation and inspiration towards future generations, aswell as sounds and songs and writing never heard previously, SRV DESTROYED jimi in terms of of overall playing, with that mean ass tone, extreme intensity and also way more feeling then Hendrix as well and he could play smoother then basically everyone before him at that time, you cant really compare them.

@@sgtpepper6499 I would definitely agree with you in terms of innovation, but you should also recognize how I actually innovated a lot with the blues because people like JLH and Robert Johnson had a somewhat delta-blues style and I took that and turned it into blues-rock, which to my understanding had never been done before. Before I passed, I thought of Jimi as the best guitarist. Jimi was extremely innovative and I would agree with you there that he made these unheard of songs. But the thing is, most of Jimi's songs weren't the best songs in the world (not that they are bad they are quite superb) and he laid out a path for other musicians. Jimi was an amazing shredder, don't get me wrong, but I would agree with you when you say that I would outshred him. Thank you.
