@@michaelpalmieri7335 I should have said that I haven't watched the full film. What I can remember was that my mother started watching it alone when I was playing outside. When I went home I saw the scene where the girl was brutally being (censored word) on the river. It wasn't pleasant so I asked my mom what was happening and she told me what it was. She actually had me play outside again as she felt that I was not comfortable watching it due to some nudity and brutality. When I came back again it was already the ending where the protagonist realized who the true cannibals were. She then lent the cd to one of our neighbors who is the father of my cousin. When DVD was rampant in those days, usually what the neighborhood do is gather inside a house and watch a movie. Even some had to be just outside the house to peep. I watched some parts past the scene mentioned above when group watching happened. I was with some of my cousins, uncles, aunts, and some adults. When they laughed and mocked the brutality scene where the perpetrators got their karma, I also laughed with my cousins but still, I can't hide the fact that it felt disturbing watching it even though I watched it with a group of people. My cousins and I were aged seven, eight, and 2 nines(including me). I'm from the Philippines by the way.

@@DS-gg1pb up in Alaska back in the day , there was a few UHF channels run by baptist preacher Jerry Falwell . They were independent religious channels that ran 12 hours a day the other was as seen on TV infomercials . It was funny seeing Girls Gone Wild infomercials on a religious station at night . We had an Alaskan run music video channel in the late 80s which sadly died . They ran unedited music themed movies like Purple Rain & Pink Floyds The Wall . Anyway the religious owner , now retired was Jerry Prevo . He was on ABCs Night line arguing with the late Jerry Falwell .

Salo is a classic Italian film, and in my personal opinion,it's not quite as bad as it's made out to be. Yeah, there is some unsavory stuff in it,but it's watchable for the most part,by today's standards. Serbian Film,on the other hand,I have not seen it either and will never watch it. In cannibal Holocaust, the cannibal stuff was a non issue really. It was that the missing people were seen as victims, the cannibles as savages for over half the movie. Then at the end, when they watch the footage they saw that the cannibals were just getting revenge for what the film crew did to their tribe.

When I first saw Clockwork, back in '71, I thought it was a masterpiece and that it was the beginning for the future of movies. The violence was satirized and I thought that was obvious, but the surprise was that people didn't like that. Instead, it turned out that audiences preferred the more realistic violence depicted in the movies which followed, and is even more popular today.

Irreversible is actually kind of boring after the 1st 30 minutes. If the film was shown in chronological order it would be a great film, but because it’s shown in reverse order, it climaxes early and shows the the build up to it after, which after seeing what happens, who cares. I wouldn’t watch it because it gets boring not for the violence.
