I was a marketing executive until I got sick of selling my soul. NEVER believe anything any company large or small says. Whenever possible, their attitude is, "We should ignore this law because we stand to gain more than we stand to lose." They ignore ALL laws that would require individuals file a suit in order for there to be enforcement. Until we have the equivalent of a district attorney for corporate law, they know there is little chance that someone is going to pay to sue them because attorney and legal fees would be more than a lawsuit would yield. Remember, corporations have no ethics or morals. They believe in nothing other than increasing profits. That is their only goal, and they will do anything they can get away with to meet it.

@@theo7236 I have long been curious if that influence was nature/nurture/or both but she definitely seemed to start from a rotten foundation when it came to morals. I would have given her a bit of grace as someone that got caught up in the whole situation if she didn’t put her name on the patents from the start that she didn’t help develop but the big one was not listening to Dr. Gardner about how she needed more education to think of a device that would work(this is in reference to the patch she dreamed up). Someone highly intelligent and educated told her to get more education to make a safe smart device and her pride ignored that advice not caring she could hurt people with what she made.

Warner Bros. Discovery as thanks to the hiring of David Zaslav, the house Bugs Bunny built revealed that they don't care about their content if it doesn't make them any money. I was prescribed a certain fantastically profitable pain pill, and thankfully I hated it. I can't stand being groggy, so they moved me to another medication that addressed my pain differently, and I was glad to be rid of it. It killed my brother, though. He was an addict, and he broke his back in a motorcyle wreck, so it dovetailed perfectly into his issues and slowly ground him down to nothing. The lawyers actively blamed him for his own addiction in court but they settled at lunch during a pretrial hearing after an email from the drug rep to his doctor surfaced that assured him that the same dope was perfectly safe for an addict to take. Those monsters may as well have prescribed him moonshine and black tar heroin. They required an NDA, but before we signed I had already leaked the email to every newspaper I could find an address for. Oops.

oh, that story about Boeing reminds me of a book called "Airframe" by Michael Creighton. it revolves around an in-flight incident that caused lots of minor injuries when an airplane bounced up and down wildly. it was a complicated situation... it started with "a bad part" that made the instrument panel show the Flaps were down when they were not. the proper way to fix that is to lower the falls and raise them again. BUT, this caused the plane to pull up, and the UNQUALIFIED person at the controls ( the proper pilot just happened to go the the bathroom a minute earlier) didn't know that this airplane had extra-sensitive controls, so he kept over-correcting. someone later demonstrates, to a nasty reporter, that all he had to do was LET THE AUTOPILOT do it's job, and there would have been one single small bounce! also, a rival company was intentionally making a big deal about it.
