That was the initial version that was televised, and depending on where you watch it now, you might still see that version. Here's a detail (reference) many might have missed (unless you're a fan of All in the Family or Bonanza). James Hong was in the episode The Chinese Restaurant. He also played 'Hopsing's Cousin' in Bonanza. The name 'Cartwright' he calls out in that episode is a reference to Bonanza. Of course, we also know that Hopsing's is the name of the Chinese restaurant Elaine got banned from. It doesn't end there as James Hong was in an episode of All in the Family playing a waiter at a Chinese restaurant Archie takes Edith to also called Hopsing's. Seinfeld is produced by Castle Rock which was started by Rob Reiner (Meathead), so it's not surprising a lot of the guest actors on Seinfeld were also guest actors on All in the Family including Len Lesser (Uncle Leo), John Randolph (original Frank Costanza) and Rae Allen (the unemployment lady).

In some episodes of Seinfeld I notice Jerry has photos of what appears to be children on his fridge. I'm thinking they were his nieces or nephews. Jerry only mentions having a sister in "The Chinese Restaurant." and is never mentioned again.

@@artvandelay3840 Yes, I remember Jerry's sister being referenced (as part of the chain of phone calls to ensue, involving Uncle Leo, after Jerry conversed with Leo's office co-worker at the Chinese restaurant). Sitcom writers need to be more careful when using throwaway lines referencing relatives that will never surface for the duration of the series.

I think John Randolph did sound a lot like Jerry Stiller. And Randolph also looked like an old George.

Leaving the door open (at another apartment) was part of the plotline in the season 2 episode "The Busboy". Kramer did it, and was shamed by George.

A small gripe: Sometimes this list is confusing about which "Jerry" you mean when describing something Jerry did. Seinfeld the performer doing something in the making of the show, or Seinfeld the character doing something in a plot?

I may be mistaken but I do believe in the episode where George is the 'bad guy' that Elaine tries to dissuade her coworker from dating, George proclaims that he's driving his dad's new 68 GTO. Which it wasn't. It would have been a 67. Not a big deal and I'm pretty sure nobody noticed it but to a car enthusiast, oh there's a difference!!

Fun fact on the Handicap Spot Episode where Jerry Stiller is introduced as George’s father. George can be seen perusing a Glamour magazine. I wonder if it’s the same Glamour issue where he had to “Zip Up” in front of his Mother?
