As I told my family as we left the theater, Maria's death in the movie was more tragic because it didn't involve her knowingly risking anything. In SA2 she knew she might get caught while trying to free Shadow. In the movie she was killed just because she wanted to keep him safe, not free him.

I was just thinking this as well. Glad someone pointed it out lol. It goes beyond that small scene on the TV though. Shadow mentions shortly after that scene about how the scientist view him like a monster. He then compares himself to the monster on the TV when discussing his purpose in life with Maria. In the lore, biolizard was the prototype version of Shadow. For him to compare himself to his prototype was an interesting nod to the fans. Even if it was being potrayed as godzilla in the movie.

10. I tell you, I had to fight the urge to whistle along to that epic song during the climactic finale. It was so epic! 9. Certainly a blink and you'll miss it moment there. 8. That had me laughing. I can't tell you how many times I've done that to my own USB flash drives. 😆 7. This confirms what I've long speculated: Insanity is, in fact, an inherent genetic feature among the Robotnik family. The fact that they played an old Michael Jackson song (circa the Jackson 5 days, I believe) in Japanese is icing on this reference cake as Sonic's style was originally inspired by the King of Pop. 3. That was such a great callback there. Ben's delivery on that line was awesome. 2. I was not expecting a Super Sonic vs Super Shadow fight, but holy crap! It gave me chills! 1. I will not lie, when I saw Metal Sonic, I was intrigued. When I saw an army of Metal Sonics, I was stunned. But, nothing raised my excitement levels to new heights quite like seeing Amy Rose show up like that! I kid you not, I screamed with delight! You know how Maximilian Dood reacted when he first saw the announce trailer for the Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics? That was me upon seeing Amy's signature hammer and then revealing herself. I could barely breathe. No movie has EVER gotten that kind of reaction from me like that! How everyone felt when they first saw Shadow at the end of 2, I'm currently feeling now. 2027 never felt more further away... OMG! 😁

I got a personal theory that Silver will be in the next Sonic movie and that Metal Sonic and Amy are from the Future. CD has a time travel gimmick to it and Metal Sonic clearly came in like the terminator, Amy wearing a cloak which could be used during a bad future and them already using Iblis in the Knuckles show.

7:32 Though Biolizard WAS in the Godzilla-esque film Shadow and Maria were watching in his flashback. Is it sad that I'm 37 years old and gave this film a standing ovation at the end because it was JUST THAT DAMN GOOD!? I would love to see the entire cast of characters show up in future films. It'd be awesome to see Big the Cat, provided he plays a relatively small roll in a comedic side-story in the film. I love Big, but he was literally made for that role and while he certainly deserves to make an appearance in the cinematic universe, he should stay in said role. Personally, if Metal Sonic shows up, I hope to see the first return of the other Mechas since Sonic R. Sonic R featured a Tails Doll straight out of the nightmares of children, a Metal Knuckles and EggRobo. IF they choose to leave Eggman out of Sonic 4, it's only fitting that EggRobo make an appearance in his place. My only complaint with Sonic 3 is that they left Shadow's demise just hanging there in the air. He goes out with the Eclipse Cannon but doesn't even get an homage in the stars. At the very least, Earth could've given a moment of silence in his honor.

I hope that the next movie features Chaos. They could spin it in a different way with Chao's being a cafe chain maskot. Maybe the turtle from the first Sonic movie absorbs some of the Master Emerald energy and becomes Chaos

Saw the movie earlier on and I loved it, best Sonic film to date, I not felt so happy about a film in cinemas in AGES, granted that I don't go offen but still this was a genuine crowd pleaser!!

I was surprised that they watch Casper, which made Knuckles afraid of Ghosts. They could’ve go with either The Shining, Poltergeist, Nightmare On Elm Street, Screem, or IT. Since those films have Ghost like moments.

There's an obscure reference that I haven't heard anyone bring up yet... In the Chao Garden, the chao put on a show singing (in Japanese) a well known song called... ABC, which is originally sung by none other than... the Jackson five. Yes. An early Michael Jackson song. MJ had a hand in writing music for none other than the game... Sonic 3

I know Jim Carrey's brain chemistry was remolded when he saw the Shadow The Hedgehog Gamecubes cut scene and Sonic Adventure 2 so he's been wanting to do a genuine Sonic franchise.

King boom boo is a painful fight because he can change the pattern whenever he wants to. I just tried the fight the other day and it took over 7 minutes because every time i get near his back he changes direction
