"The Woman King". The movie depicts the Dahomey as fighters against slavery while in reality they were a slaver tribe who fought numerous wars just to capture pow's to enslave or sacrifice them. They had to be forced by the British to give up slavery. And yes, they had women in their military. But that was because the Dahomey were at war so often they lost so many men and had to fill the ranks.

One little detail not in Zulu: the British Uniforms are still intact by the end of the film. In real life, the soldiers had to tear strips off them to act as makeshift bandages. So most were in tatters by the end. Most of the survivors remained on duty there after the battle. When A london based journalist visited three months later to report on things, he found new uniforms still hadn't come through and they were walking round in tatters. When that story broke, it was soon sorted. Plus sa change....

My Dad was serving during the Battle of the Bulge. One time he was on patrol with 3 others when they were ambushed by some Germans. The other 3 were dead and Dad was left for dead because he had taken a bullet to his head (it actually glanced off the top of his forehead and knocked his helmet off but it looked like he was shot in the forehead). He lay there unconscious in the snow for hours before being found. He kept his toes, but the frostbite was so severe he was put on limited duty until VE Day and his feet were sensitive to cold the rest of his life.

Your point regarding slavery during the Revolutionary War is accurate. However, "the gross anti brit sentiment" is historically accurate and appropriate. During the Southern campaign, the war was especially brutal (on both sides). The Colonial Army and militias had a saying, "Tarleton's quarter." Which meant no quarter. This was inspired by Banastre Tarleton and his tendency to murder surrendering colonial troops. I'm not pretending that the Colonists were innocent, but they hated the British and had good reason. (Yes, this is an oversimplification, but if I got into the minutia of all that occurred, I'd be typing for hours)

Facts are facts, fiction is fiction and for the most part, the movies are entertainment. To entirely believe a movie, almost any movie, is to deny yourself the truth. If you watch one and accept it as the entire truth, it is you choosing to accept the lie. To find the real truth you have to find an appropriate, unbiased source, like a book(s) perhaps and explore it. Otherwise understand that a movie is just entertainment, and only that...entertainment. Cheers. 🇨🇦

Some changes to history are because the writers are lazy, not looking up what really happened. Some are propaganda, making bad choices look good or good choices look bad. Benjamin Martin owned slaves? Maybe, maybe not. Benjamin Martin was a fictional character, and surprise, surprise NOT everyone in the south owned slaves. There was such a thing as "Free People of Color". And in that time in history there were also slaves in the north. The death toll building the Bridge of the River Kawi was surprising low, at least compare to when the railroad got deeper into the jungles. Then the death toll climbed very high from the tropical diseases. Me? I am surprised that this list did NOT include any movies about the Battle of the Little Big Horn, not depicting the Indians sweeping the battlefield finishing off the wounded soldiers in assorted gruesome ways..

10. You left us hanging with the Vietnamese story who imprisoned and tortured prisoners? Also why is it insinuated that America always has ulterior motivations? I can recall when communism was considered a threat today people seem brainwashed into believing it is a good idea. 9.First, During this time period even slaves had people working for them and the so called free workers would have been severely punished for not doing as they were told. Second, a picture has been painted that only white people owned slaves. What we aren’t told about are the numbers of Irish and Scots who were sold into slavery on servitude. 5. Where is the proof that Chris Kyle committed these crimes?

Not everyone who lived in the south was a slave owner. Just because Mel Gibson tends to muddy the waters with his historic portrayals, it’s not that far fetched to think a man in the Carolina’s owned a plantation with zero slaves. And anyone trying to defend the British empire, well known contributors to slavery all around the world, just ask Ireland, Scotland, India etc about how “benevolent” they were.

If we are being accurate WatchMojo, then huge 'cough cough' to The Woman King, a whole movie of historical lies. Also if these things were included, you would still moan about them being included. Cannot win with lefties.
