The collection overall was okay... inoffensive, but also indistinctive. Heavy on the references from those who came before, which is par for the course for every new creative director. People seldom ever make a splash entrance nowadays, and certainly not in this economy. But this collection reminded me so much of Alessandro's first collections for men and women. He didn't start out with his signature over the-top maximalist style, but there was hints of what was to come hidden amongst all of the Tom Ford and Frida Giannini references. This collection is probably just Sabato making a seamless transition at the request of the higher ups, maybe in the coming seasons we will see his POV and identity. Wishing him success.

Those platform loafers are WOEFUL. I overall like it, its quite sleek, but yeah a bit dated. -the hoodies can go. -urgh... the sneakers are donnnneeee -the colours are beautiful - love the shiny leather pieces.

Some of the skirts are nice and light blue skirt and navy top. But the shorts were too short for 40 year olds and who wears a neigigee on the street lol Unless I am in the red light zone 😀

The creative directors of these big corporate luxury brands dont direct their own vision. They are 'creatively' directing the vision of the marketing/financial team haha. Im predicting the ''fashion'' channels on youtube froth over it and not know any better. (shopping channels.... as per our conversation on the livestream)

I would wear what you dubbed the "safari" look-tan romper. Cute but nothing original. And the big puffy gold gucci link necklaces. Nothing else.

Couldn't agree more. Such a bland collection and no creativity at all. There's nothing to really get hold of. Well except them celebrities who get paid to wear the clothes. The front row was also very telling. Kind of worried about how this is going to go

I really do like some of the clothes in this collection, especially the troyer (sailor pullover) with the sparkly collar and the dark coat with the red stripe. But the shorts and skirts are too short, even for the skinny models. The shoes... nope

@@SuperDacob AM's style resonated w me very strongly from day one. and he certainly gave Gucci a distinct look from all the other brands during his tenure. now it feels like Prada(lite) trying to do a TF re-edition but ends up looking Zara. i am still rather disappointed that (not)Kering chose profits over creativity and imagination.

As per usual, I completely agree with your commentary… Sadly, or rather, should I say depressingly, this show is absolutely a sign of our times. Commerce trumps creativity. Truth be told, I was and still am a huge Alessandro Michele fan, but regardless, I tried to watch with an open mind, and this show was a snore fest.

Alessandro’s ready to wear never sold; most of his pieces would go to outlet, aside from the pop accessories that would sell like hot cakes. If Sabato can get peoples attention ready and raise their revenue to Guccis top sellers like shoes and hand bags he’ll of struck gold.
