It’s funny, I bought the 126711chnr in 2019 for $15k and thought I paid too much. At the time I wanted a modern GMT and couldn’t get the steel versions at msrp and the gray prices were $20k. It’s impossible for me to guess the market so I just buy what I like and all Rolex are great.

The tt CHNR is one of the most interesting models Rolex has released in decades IMO. It's stunning in person.

Austin, I've had Rolex for many yrs, never had a problem, was told that correcting the time , can be done fairly quick at Rolex factory, but shipping is very slow. I love the 9001movement in my Sky Dweller, so far, perfect.

The CHNR is a Rolex masterpiece, the everose center links and oystersteel is a gorgeous combination, very understated for a “gold” watch. You will never mistake this piece for anything else on the market.

My DJ41 126300 with the 3235 movement does run slow. ~12 months of purchasing I did bring it into an AD which shipped it to an RSC for a service but now 2 years later it seems to run slow again (~4-6sec/day).

The pre-ceramic root beer is gorgeous, I'd go with that all day. But don't overlook the two-tone BLACK pre-ceramic GMT. It's the underrated TT GMT that the root beer USED TO be.

The 3235 movement in my Datejust 126300 has been 0 seconds +/- over my 7 months of ownership, and it is worn daily. I must have gotten a good one!

When I bought my 39mm Explorer at the AD they had a Ceramic Root Beer as well. From seeing it in person I recall it was underwhelming, something about the gold center links made it look almost like polished steel. I've come to appreciate it more and want to see it in person again. I do own a 16713 Root Beer that I bought in 2019 and really like it. That being said I found the two tone yellow gold bracelet a little too much for everyday wear so I experimented with a ton of straps. It took awhile to find something I liked and wear it on a tan rubber strap from Horus. Either Root Beer has it's charm with the 16713 being a love or hate it watch.

I think with the Cermit I would wear it for a few weeks and check it. Also put it on the Timegrapher and check the various positions. And as you know if it’s gaining time in any of the positions put it in a position overnight. If after a couple of months it hasn’t improved I would definitely take it in for adjustment. My new sub was about -5 seconds a day and after a few weeks it started to go to -5 to -8 seconds a day. I took it to RSC now it gains two seconds a day which is fine.

The 32xx movements are awesome. I bought the Cermit and the Pepsi around November and just recently a Datejust 41. What I think is that they break in after 6 to 8 weeks. Both the Datejust and the Pepsi ran slow to start. Pepsi is about 0 seconds per day now. Datejust was losing up to 3.5 sends and now loses maybe 1 second. Cermit ran 2 seconds fast and still does. Perfect.

That's quite an AD you got there. Got a CHNR last November, hoping for a BLNR for a gift this year. I wonder about my chances...

Check them in 2-3 years time, my 2019 DJ41 was -1 second per day but is now running -5 seconds per day, 3 years later. There is an issue with lubrication drying out on the 3235’s apparently

My Rolex DJ41 has a 3235 movement and runs 5 seconds slow a day. I will take it back at some stage. My old movement Rolex watches are much more accurate.

Great video, Austin, can't wait for the final instalment. You have a good point on the price unpredictability of ceramic rootbeer. If rolex ever does come up with the jubilee bracelet option then you can almost be sure the oyster on the grey market will be pressed down 😁 but at the end of the day, you buy to enjoy and not think too much about resale price. It is after all a Rolex.

I really love both those watches. as far as ceramic rolex goes the chnr is one of my favorites. but the vintage is so great. such a bizarre ugly/beautiful piece. DON'T pay flipper prices for new pieces though. just don't do it. pay a premium for a piece that is discontinued. pay a premium for a rare vintage piece in beautiful condition and amazing patina. don't buy into the hype and justify the prices flippers are asking for current models. just don't be part of that game.

The newer Root Beer is the one to have, yes it’s a bit flashy but it’s a summer time eye candy piece. The extended power reserve and upgraded bracelet is by far the preference over a tired looking vintage relic. Of course I’m some what biased owning the newer one myself 😁.
