I was actually looking at the Breitling's then this cropped up in my feed... with some research I found very little in the way of a decent review and tutorial... and when I heard it had ((VIBE)) I was on the hunt... odd thing there is none in Europe so ordered mine from the USA :-P The instructions don't show every tiny little detail, and found many more, so added this in the description as the video was already heading towards a week long LML :-P Cheers for the support my dear friend :)

Cheers buddy.... I was looking at the Breitling Emergency and then found the Multi-8... but didn’t find a good enough video to show all the details plus how it functions, and there still isn’t which surprises me, as this watch is so nicely designed. I would’ve liked a quick home back button seen on G-Shocks, but it’s liveable... very unique watch to have a vibe alert, which works well... the continuous backlight is the deal breaker ;) Now, which model pleases you the most? Very good value on these, and to think it’s the same quality as Longines at a much better price... Cheers for the feedback

Absolutely gorgeous video! I fully support your thoughts that in other models of this series the dial is made roughly and with errors. The review of the functionality of the watch is simply magnificent! Thanks! I just want to add that the model with a white dial and a black display looks awkward. Even budget cacios on light dials have light displays with dark text. Why Certina could not make a light version of the display for a light dial is a mystery.

Really enjoyed your tutorial. Just one question, how long (how many hours) does the lume last on the hands and indices?
@WatchUP69MrRangeman2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your feedback my friend :) If you charge the lume for a good ten minutes, then it'll last throughout the night... the intense side lasts about a good hour, then fades, but as your eyes adjust to darkness, then it's visible even if not strong. It's not at a level of my SEIKO SUN021 Diver's watch, as that really shows in the early hours and is the brightest of all my lumed watches. Now with that said, it does have a backlight, and it's continuous when using the buttons, so you can adjust what you need easily at night, which is a great strength. The lume is good, but it's not going to blow you away with strength, it's a sports/dress watch... with regards to lume, and you need a constant amount of lume, then tritium gas tubes wins, it's not bright, but it's glowing all the time, will require no light charging and is very visible in low lighting. Sometimes lume is misleading, and using a Diver's watch for example, the lume is really used for 45mins maybe a little more, but it's not meant to be at strength for hours and hours at a time, just that the deeper you go, less light is shown, thus why the use of lume. Being honest, don't get this watch if you're into bright lume, it just has enough glow to survive the night, but your eyes have to be adjusted to the dark. Hope that helps you :)
@usmanp78952 жыл бұрын
@@WatchUP69MrRangeman Thank you for your response, very in depth and very useful. You mentioned the backlight and that's what I would want to use at night to tell the time. However what concerns me is if the minutes hand is partially covering the digital screen can you still make out the time by tilting the watch to see behind the mins hand?
@WatchUP69MrRangeman2 жыл бұрын
@@usmanp7895 The hands are designed slim so you can see the digital display, even if you have to angle it, now when you're adjusting, the hands sweep away, so if the time is being displayed on the LCD panel, then a long press on the top right button and the hands will move away, then just press the crown button a few times to exit, so that's more of a hack than would be seen in the manual as a way to shift the hands. I've heard prices have dropped, so make sure you're really searching and of course, be cheeky and ask about a best offer :) Think around $200-$250 is the average, but don't go anywhere near $300. If you have big wrists like mine, maybe look towards the bracelet version, as me being 7.5" it's pretty close to the maximum, and the last keeper tends to fall away... thought I'd add that too just in case :)
@usmanp78952 жыл бұрын
@@WatchUP69MrRangeman Thanks for the advice. I'm thinking of going for the Titanium version however I'm finding the price a bit steep (about $300 plus customs for importing to UK). I'm not a fan of ani-digi watches, but this certina is rather attractive and impressive. I just wish it had a second hand.
@WatchUP69MrRangeman4 жыл бұрын
I know what you mean with the second hand, but with contemplating about this DS Multi-8 In the watch world a ticking second hand is thought to be the cheaper side of watches as the sweeping mechanical is more noticed as being more refined, so if it had a quartz tick would it put you off? Being that it's just the main hands you can't judge it that way, you are left unsure what it is making it a mystery... with the digital display off it really does make it feel motionless so your more focused on the actual face... you don't have any misalignment to worry about so makes it feel solid like a clock on a historical building... What does the ticking hand do really, is it there to reinsure you it's working, or more for pleasure? If I was part of the team behind the design of the DS Multi-8 would I want a second hand to tick? Thinking about it and living with the watch I've realized that it's actually better without... it just feels right for this type of watch, you don't feel like you've lost something or needs more... it's quite an odd one, as on some other watches that don't have the tick it seems naked or broken if that makes sense... the digital display has many options which of one displays the seconds, but even with this my focus is really on the main time hands. I was going to talk about that side, as I have covered this in a video about the GST Steel G-Shock that has no second hand, but wanted to focus on what it has and not what it has missing, which to me is not the case. I understand that for many the second is very normal to see, and when it's gone it's noticed, but when it's there it's still sort of ignored.. I guess if it had a electronic sweep like what you see on a Accutron or Spring Drive then maybe that would be the best for this DD Multi-8 🤔 The module is brilliant and clever, maybe an hourly signal but that's just being picky... If you held it you'll understand my side as everything looks different in the hand. From this I'm now looking at other models from Certina, think they're sly foxes under the radar as they're very well made and priced very competitively and being it's under the Swatch Group means you're getting a true ETA unlike a copy from Sellita, but I think Sellita used to make parts for ETA, but you know what I mean. Thanks for the comment and a good observation on the second hand ;)
