Water Changing To Control Cyanobacteria/Blue-Green Algae - How has it progressed?

Fans of the channel know I have been fighting off a major algae outbreak in my salt water fish tank. I did not want to go straight to medications and I wanted to see what would happen with some old fashioned maintenance. I have committed to doing weekly water changes for the last two months. As you can see in the video it actually helped quite a bit! I did end up deciding to use chemiclean but I pretty much beat the cyano down to being almost unrecognizable.

@ it will help your all around tank health. It will help with the green hair algae as well.

@ it helps with all algae. It helps establish a good biological filtration. I have had my current reef tank (mainly sps) for over ten years and I have NEVER used any chemicals like chemiclean. The only thing I have used is MicroBacter7, water changes, kalk, and carbon dosing. I have started dosing straight ammonia within the last year but that’s nothing that I would suggest.
