Tip is if you doing water crossing clean up your rubber seals from dust as they push the seals or squash them to allow dust and water in.

Get the FBH out of your tool kit Jacob and give the connecting thread a little bit of a tap to make the fitting round (O) again instead of oval shape. You can get a 12 volt (small) soldering iron at Bunnings for next to nothing and keep it with you. Love the Gibb. Thanks for taking us to the water holes and explain how you don't need to heli in or out. Great info. Cheers. At the Falls, could you climb down to the middle level and swim there. I think that would be great. Possibly an awesome photo op too! Where will you pull into to make your repairs/ clean the caravan/vehicle?

Guys a good laugh as usual. Don't know if you went but under and behind Little Mertens Falls (where you swam in the natural spa), is a huge aboriginal art gallery. Also about 1km from the King Edward River crossing heading towards the Mitchelle, there are 2 more really good art sites one each side of the road.

I have to ask, how is the fact that the toilet canister door opens right near where you spend your time outside. This is the only reason I went for a hybrid with toilet opening at the back. I mean acoustics, potential spillage 😂😂😂

Such a good question! It’s actually super clean in the actual storage part, it’s just the inside of the canister that’s obvi not great. 😅 we’ve never had any troubles whatsoever! Touch wood. 😂

Hi Guys. You have been dragging that tinnie along for the ride for a while. In hindsight has it been worth it? Planning a similar trip and wondering if you would still recommend taking one!

Hey David!! Absolutely, great question. Honestly, it really depends on when you’d asked us. For example, the weather when we were in SA was terrible so we hardly got it in the water then so at that stage we would have said no but after hitting places like the Ningaloo, we would have been kicking ourselves if we didn’t have it. Places like North Lefroy where you could have the tinny off the roof for a week were the dream! Had our time again, if we weren’t towing we’d buy a tinny for the WA coast then sell it I think! But also we haven’t hit the QLD coast yet either!! Gosh, such a hard one, I’d say I’d you can, bring one! There’s just so many incredible places you can get to. 👌🏼

I am tending to the metal canopy, as it seems easier to access everything from waist height, but they are so expensive. How is the fibreglass canopy going? security, dust, access to stuff deep at the back, has it come loose with the vibrations? How did you get yours modified to take the roof rack? Keep up the good work - using your channel to inspire the wife and friends for our trip! David

Another great question! Mainly the reason we have a fiberglass is cost and looks, they are the pros, because we have a caravan we don't need to have a huge setup in the ute when we already live out of the caravan, yes it would be easier with an aluminium canopy, but for the cost of one that would actually look good it wasn't worth it for us. If you watch our ranger tour video, I talk a bit more in depth about this and you'll see we actually don't keep much in the back. I hope this helps!

Also sorry! to answer the other question, the dust is horrible, but apart from that the canopy is still in fantastic working order. It locks up super safe aswell

Back in the day when we did Mitchell Falls 96 you could only park 3 4WDs and the last 13km took 2.5 hours and it was marked 'The road to Hell' no helicopter rides from the car park they flew from Kununurra and the road shook the shit out of my FJ55 and there wasn't a path to follow you looked for the pile of rocks but that was in the olden days you guys have got it easy now it's a place so special l will get back there one day to do the Gibb a gain so glad you enjoyed yourselves you guys rock cheers legends ☺️ bogged
