My aunt has a cast iron cauldron that lays on its side, it holds a small amount of water, the bees love it, we had to move her last summer, and I decided I’m going to gat some cast iron pots at sales just for my garden. 🐝🐝🐝

If the stones are too smooth will they be too slippery for the bees?
@happyface23735 жыл бұрын
Every morning I make sure there's water in the bird bath slime grows in one day how do I keep the slime away? I have a rather large flat Stone that the birds can land on and that gets slimy too.

After it rains the container will be overflowing. Do you just tip it over a little to get rid of the excess water?
@thenectarbar64613 жыл бұрын
Yes, or add more rocks.

This is nice, but it lacks nutrients. In nature you see butterflies drink from puddles with urine and manure in it. You can mimmick that with some compost, tiny bit of seasalt and a few cowdong grains (biol fertilizer) mixed in the water. 😉 Keep up the good work! Like to watch it.

@thenectarbar64615 жыл бұрын
Frugal minimalist Vegan, yes I do. But in the Puddle patch, not here in the water.

Meeee too! I'm getting a butterfly feeder (like hummer feeder). After I saw one checking out of my hummer feeder. I didnt know if there was such a thing. There is!! also made a butterfly puddler. Yeah!!!
@dianam9653 жыл бұрын
A little sand under the rocks would solve the puddling issue.
@joanshealy16624 жыл бұрын
I thought they like mud puddles not good to have standing water around the house for mosquito breeding and disease yuck
@thenectarbar64614 жыл бұрын
Joan Shealy the rocks prevent the mosquitos laying eggs. As long as your water isn’t sitting above the rocks, you won’t have mosquitoes. ✌🏼💝🦋🦋

@@thenectarbar6461 , she's being facetious about when you're talking and say, "Um." You're fine! Thanks for the video! I learned to include rocks in my water trays after a wasp fell in. Still trying to attract large numbers of butterflies. I've seen yellow, and also black one's on my Petunias. Don't remember seeing any on the Lantana nor Sunflowers. Thanks again and keep all the fantastic videos coming! 🥰Peace...
