1:40 he asked how the lightning was coming from the ground...it is always coming from the ground, when clouds send a charge to the ground it is entirely invisible until it meets a "grounding" point (dont know if I'm using terminology correctly) like a lightning rod, a tree, or even just the ground itself, and then from that meeting point the lightning arcs back up to the sky faster than the human eye can track. This video is either someone demonstrating this phenomenon or some video editor trying to make something cool without realizing how technically correct he is. Edit: there are also negative and positive charges to take into account as well, i forgot about that bit until i read a comment further down from somebody who actually knows what they're talking about.
