I know it's an old post but I'm hoping you check time to time. Is the air pump on top of the humidifier simply there to dehumidify the air before it goes into the oil. Also you mention a rock. Is that just a fish tank rock that bubbles the air. thanks very interesting concept

Desiccant air flowing through water emulsified in oil solution can dry it out by absorbing some of the moisture content. I use this process to remove water from contaminated hydraulic system. Unless your hydraulic system has a desiccant air breather it will eventually absorb moisture through condensation during fluid cool down. Sorry about the poor quality video. I did not. I ran low pressure desiccant air through hydraulic fluid. Similar process to a air bubbler in a fish tank. The right tool to use is a centrifuge. This is a cheap alternative.

@@jburmister9090 so basically bubble up the bucket of fluid and with the dehumidifier close to it, it grabs the moister that goes up in the air and dries out the oil?

@@nobleroofinggeneralcontrac7961 the air being pumped into the bucket is being pumped from the dried air coming out of the dehumidifier. The dry air will absorb moisture as it bubbles up through the waterlogged oil.

Can you just fill a (metal) bucket with contaminated oil and put a water heater element in there to steam the water out?

​@AlanBurnham So how do you connect the fish pump line to the dehumidifier? I just checked my dehumidifier and don't see a dry air outlet. It has a tank that collects water but that's it.

Cool idea! I see this is a few years old, shoot, now the cost is positively prohibitive with the cost of oil. These guys that say to do multiple oil changes apparently have no money worry's. Thanks
