I opened my business "FRENCH RIVER SPRINGS" on November 2, 2002. When I meet new people, I often get asked what I do for a living. Well, I think a video is worth a thousand words and this video shows exactly what I do in a day of work. Of course this is just the delivery part so I intend to do another video of my water bottling facility.

I work for Berkeley Club Beverages. I deliver 5 gallons to houses and to some big companies. Like P&G. It isn't a bad job. Heavy lifting all day. A check on, is when you see how many empty water jugs there is. You replace that many. And then there is times you have it. Where you have call in. And you know how many to take in with you. Have the invoice ready. Most of my stops are check on's. I need a cart like this one.

I do that work every days..this is only store, but how about offices and residential? I have some client that I have to get on third floor by using stairs..for sure,no need to go to gym after work...we can put up to 160 bottles in our truck. how much you have in a full truck?..like the way you handle the bottles..I see you can put 8 bottles at once,we using a Gemini convertible hand-truck it allows us to put 12 on,but most of time,we put 8 or 9 on it..if you are planning to have a new truck later, have a look of side doors trucks, like Pepsi or beer truck..you will find that much more efficient to work with

I have been doing this going on 16 years. Will do for maybe 2 more years then sell my business. I'm almost 50 and this is getting too hard on my back. In my truck, I can put 96 bottles in the racks and another 70 on the floor if I need to. Ya I have a school and have to go up 3 set of stairs and go true 2 set of doors then walk 100 feet in the hallway. And they take 8 bottles so I have to do it 4 times. Brutal!!!!

BIG QUESTION......When you deliver water to residentials....is it proper that residential should give you tips? Very curious as I just started ordering home delivery water bottle service. I received my new batch today and I feel bad I didn't tip my water supply guy or is it paying for the service is already good enough? Sorry very new this and curious...should I or no is it okay???? I usually order 5 jugs at a time and it lasts me about 1 1/2 months.

Most people never tipped me but some would always give me a tip. At Christmas time, I would get lots of tips and gifts. Wine , chocolate, etc. One woman loved baking so I would always get food every time I would bring her water.

Jarrod, I closed my business because after 16 years because it was starting to ruin my back. Also it was starting to be difficult to make a profit near the end. The money was ok when I started 16 years ago but now everything is so much more expensive. To keep a commercial truck on the road is now ridiculously expensive. But the big problem is that the price of water has not gone up in the last 16 years. It it will not go up for many years to come. So it will get much worse for those who are still in the water business. As a matter of fact, to buy water by the case of 500 ml, is now one quater of the price than is was 16 years ago. Thanks to Nestley. :(
