Hello. A few people have asked about the water. I have not seen an answer to that question. Can you tell us the temperature of the water? Would distilled water work better? Thank you for answering these questions.

This is great. Can you use things that aren't flat like paper to dip in the marbling solution?
@timeenuf42002 жыл бұрын
Looks fun. Questions: (1) instead of pulling off extra paint after a first pull can you pull a ghost print until all the paint is gone? (2) how does marbling paper used for printing differ from regular paper, card stock, or papers used for ink work? (3) can you dip cotton fabric? Thank you.
@DecoArtPaint2 жыл бұрын
Hello! (1) That is essentially what you are doing with the cleaning paper, so yes you could pull ghost prints until the remaining color on the size is off, but it would probably take a few more pulls than just one using the cleaning paper and you would be using up nicer marbling paper to do so. (2)Water Marbling paper is created with a bright white, smooth surface and special color-locking technology to capture and maintain the vibrant colors from Water Marbling acrylics. The color, thickness, and composition of our Marbling Papers help ensure this. (3) Yes, you CAN dip the cotton fabric and it performs very well. We have a product called Surface Prep, shop.decoart.com/water-marbling-object-surface-prep/, that can be used to treat cotton fabric to help make sure colors adhere and stay vibrant. We've had several people dip cotton shoes, socks, hats, and more. Thanks for your questions and let us know if we can tell you anything more!

Can we use The Surface Prep on paper as well?
@DecoArtPaint2 жыл бұрын
@@discohandgliding The surface prep has been created for fabric and other more structured surfaces. On other papers, Since it is a liquid preparation, depending on the kind of paper being used, it may just disintegrate and degrade the paper. Just to clarify, the DecoArt Marbling Paper was created for water marbling, so it does not require any surface prep. The best way to see if the Surface Prep can work on other papers, is to test on that paper. We would love to know what you find out.

This is neat! Can I do this on 4” ceramic tiles instead of marbling paper?
@DecoArtPaint2 жыл бұрын
It depends on the ceramic exactly and primarily whether the ceramic has been treated with any sort of glaze or top coat or varnish. If it is raw ceramic, we have found the water-marbling colors adhere really well!

Hello Josh, A few questions for you- what surface are you using to dip on? Are you using a rinsing bin of water and putting the print facedown in the water after pulling? We would really like to help you get the technique down. It does take practice and we are here to help.

Some people call it hydro-dipping. We have never heard it called aqua dipping, but that could be something that others call it,
