Just changed water pump on mine at 112000 miles The bearings went and burst through spilling coolant Also replaced pipe and hose that run from Thermostat as the pipe was leaking. New intake manifold and remap on Monday Already running 225 BHP with bolt ons but going to add intake as this was the only thing left to do without going forced induction or internals. Going with Rbc intake but M2 is also available if you did decide to modify

Well done buddy, wish I had the time to take on an EP3 project, too busy being a dad to my 2 year old at the moment. Just a helpful tip, I think it's worth checking the tappets and timing chain tensioner as it sounds a little too tapety to me. Owned a Honda S2000 for 7 years and although the F20C is a different engine, the consepts are very similar. Changed my TCT at 100k and the noise went away. Hope this helps buddy, and keep up the good work :)

Jon Dacunha l agree. Still a lot of tappety noise there for a petrol engine. I wouldn't know what's causing it only l wouldn't like it there. Does it quieten down l wonder after the car is running for a while?

I know the Dad thing well, I have 2 rascals under 2 at the moment, crazy stuff. The little man loves the Type R though, cries when taking him out ha ha I will be checking clearances when I have the rocker cover off, I have to do the gasket and I am going to paint it as well, so I plan to address all that when I have the top off. Yeah VTEC engines tend to tap alittle on startup but then settle down when the oil spreads around 😊 Yeah perks of the job, my car days are over until he gets older and can work a spanner lol. I was gonna mention do the tappets when you do the rocker seal and respray. When the red starts to peel,it tend to mean the engines been hot at some point but I'm sure the engine will still be strong. Yeah I'm sure your lad will start to enjoy the VTEC as he gets older 😊. Always had a soft spot for the EP3 it's got almost identical performance as an S2000 due to being lighter and less transmission loss. Gonna try and get hold of one in a few years, you just can't beat the driving pleasure type R's an the S2000 give you 😊

I have the same noise coming from my motor you weren’t specific so is the water pump bad or the pulley That’s causing it to make that noise

I have an 2008 FN2 type R from new with only 100,000 k. Would it be worth doing this job now?

Good video but please get your bolt sizes correct. A bolt that requires a 12mm socket to undo it is not a 12mm bolt!
