Omfgawd bro. Dis was fkn awesome 👌. I swear... my ol lady tahoe just started leaking. Pump is still doing its thang. It's just a drip right now. So I'm willing 2 bet it's the seals. Quick comment for anyone trying to get their fan off. The easiest way to remove one of these is to hit it with the air hammer / chisel bit on the nut as it will immediately loosen it. Just remember it is a counter clockwise thread. You can also finish tightening it in the same manner when reinstalling it.

Great video, hopefully my problem is just a gasket issue as well. I am experiencing a leaking at the bottom of my water pump. Water pump seems to working correctly, of course given coolant is at a correct level. Any opinion.

He put "loctite" on the bolts...It basically keeps the bolts from coming back loose after install.

That's a good video, I watched it last night and this afternoon changed the water pump in our 03 Tahoe. The video was cool because it got right to the point and it was very informative. Also, it was the seals, but I had the new pump so I put it on anyway. Thanks

You skipped the most important part. How did you get the 1 3/8 nut to stay steady while you loosened it? Why woold you do that part off camera?

Leave the belt installed as it will help to hold the water pump pulley while you loosen the 1 3/8 nut. Get a large adjustable wrench and fit it tight around the nut. The handle of the crecent wrench will be sticking up pretty far. Take a good size hammer and rap on the crescent wrench handle (counter-clockwise like in the video) to break the fan clutch loose...It will probably take a few good hits.

Dixie Rebellion Thanks for the reply but I found out that the pump pulley did not need to be removed because the replacement water pump comes with a new pulley already installed.
