Drain all the coolant if you don’t want to make a mess. Hose is a 3/8 heater hose drilled open

Great question man. Yes they are putting out aftertreatment pumps. There’s quite a few manufacturers in the water pump game. I can’t see them being worse than OEM as original ones aren’t great to begin with, they tend to leak like crazy for no reason.

@@berniesands6201 that antenna is using the gps antenna which is located in most applications in the sleeper roof above the dome lamp fixture. Above the p/s dome lamp is where most are. Some I’ve found are in the headliner seen once the small compartments are removed.

Great question and thanks for watching. So with that code is it a mechanical defect detected code but you would also need to check the coolant temp sensors to determine if there screwing up and causing the code. Really some t/s would need to be done because it could be the pump , wiring , or sensors. Would hate to lead you in the wrong direction without knowing all the facts. Hope that helps.

You should be fine if there’s no leak yes. Just make sure nothing is wrong with the pulley or you may throw a belt.

Great question, since your engine ecm is looking for a electronically controlled water pump you would need that version of one. To change that you would need a custom tune to disable that. I imagine the water pump would be the cheaper option.

Well ,,, if there’s nothing wrong with your old one than reuse that. Just new gasket for sure. If there any build up of coolant around the lower section of the pulley than do not reuse.

I would say change it to the correct one so there won’t be any check Eng lights. That would be best.
