Well done and no nuts and bolts left over either. Your re-assemble reminded me of another of my stories My father owned an Armstrong Siddley, car the Whitley model, he got the site mechanic to fit new brake shoes after work. As a young teenager I helped and cleaned up all the parts, we assembled the brakes the next evening and the mechanic asked what I'd done with two missing springs, I said there was only one spring on each set of shoes, but he didn't believe me. So two more springs were purchased. But the brakes would not work properly, dad called Armstrong Siddley and they opened especially on Saturday morning to check the brakes out. we sat in the waiting room having a coffee, the shop Forman came in and put two springs on the table and said the cars OK now. Dad gave me a look and just shook his head. There was no charge for the brake check, so dad took the manager and foreman for a beer and recited the story. The manager nipped out and came back with the AS bonnet mascot mounted on a wooden plinth, I still have it and AS have long gone, along with many other Great car manufacturer's.

You know... the only thing this tractor needs now is a paint job. Maybe your local high schools vo-ag class needs a project? Decades ago, our class rebuilt engines, transmissions, and new paint on a whole bunch of them. I'm guessing that schools are still looking for projects. It was a pretty good deal for the farmer. They paid for parts and sometimes a small pizza party at the end. Win-win

Scott’s Small Farming and Things . - YES!!! first thanks for the help... as for the nightmare, I talked to Jeff at Wilson Co. Supply this morning and there is a solution for the nematode problem while still using Liberty water hemp killing product. Jeff said he has a way to actually kill the nematodes without harming the eco of the soil. praise God. next year group 5, early harvest and we move to wheat with a much reduced nematode problem. in my search I found out nematodes are a wide spread problem much greater than I had originally suspected. Illinois is 100% infected while NC is only infected from western Wake to the coast. I wonder what Jeff and Jake are doing up there to fight the issue. have a blessed day cousin.

TAH-DAH Farm - LED lights make daytime out of nighttime. cameras just don't do them justice. I am considering changing the single 20 amp fuse link to 3 separate fuses. right now if the one fuse blows I'm in the dark trying to find my way back to the shop. after thoughts on the way I did this last year. thanks for watching.

I never put just water........Come winter you will have to drain and add antifreeze...... I keep a 50/50 mix for adding to systems that need it.... Antifreeze also lowers the boiling point......plus I don't have to run myself crazy checking what needs antifreeze when a cold snap comes.....

Do you use anti freeze or better still cool guard for corrosion and protection against cavitation ? this will also help the engine run cooler ! would of been nice to see you remove that stud yourself !
@SoybeanFarmer33005 жыл бұрын
chris marston - yes, need more tools to do more of the work myself. antifreeze will be a 50/50 mix with distilled water as it is in all my radiators. thanks for watching and commenting.

I hope you are going to put something in there besides just water. The block will rust up on you quicker and the seals on that new waterpump willnot be happy for as long.
@SoybeanFarmer33005 жыл бұрын
jerry davis - in the 19 years I've owned this 4020 I've changed the antifreeze 3 times. with the water pump off this was my first opportunity to see an inside water jacket and I was well pleased with what I saw. no rust and very clean. so yes, now that I have the confidence to know 48 dollars of antifreeze rust inhibitor is going to stay inside and not fall out on the ground I'll be getting that done Thursday night after I get home from work. thanks for the concern, watching and being here.
