I usually don't comment on how bad people film stuff. Who every was holding the camera should find a different skill. Completely missed the most crucial part of the rescue.

I think he lost sight of the giy abd was looking all over the river for him with his camera.

If I lived in a house with the dam behind it, I would install a camera in the tree on my property to keep an eye on the dam from an always-on screen in my house. That way I could see if any animal/human was trapped. I would keep a rope with a floating ring available at all times in the back yard.

It's only a risk for poorly maintained low head dams. Check out Practical Engineering's video on low head dams

@@somethingfunny9341 I don't know of a well-maintained lowhead dam anywhere in the USA. They don't maintain them. Most of them were built in the late 1800's to early 1900's for powering mills and for holding back water during droughts. All of them are dangerous.

@@somethingfunny9341 The danger of low head dams is inherent in the design. How could maintenance prevented what happened in this video?
@Landgraf433 жыл бұрын
@@jzwillows you can either destroy them or modify the flow of the hydraulic jump to prevent a recirculating current for example by filling the dam with big rocks

They should be able to put some large boulders at the base of this and get rid of that nasty hydraulic. Or you could get a Creature Craft/Waterwog lowhead dam rescue craft.

To manage the water supply for crops, raise water level, generate electricity and create a drinking reservoir

@@Romany1111 well to rais the water level, you need some sort of dam

@@oogyboogytom5677 Right. However, low-head designs are no longer used, and are not needed. Luckily. more are being removed/modified yearly
