Thanks a bunch for this. The weather has been CRAZY this year and I’ve been going nuts as a brand new angler, trying to pick out baits. I fish from the bank and use a thermometer. This will make it a lot easier to at least be in the ballpark! Really, thank you.

I'm in central texas. We are just getting into the turnover. It hasn't happened yet, but I've noticed the water Temps cooling. The bite here around me has picked up, along with the aggressive bite of bass. They are also starting to darken up, which is a sign the turnover is approaching. Great info!

Thanks for the info Sir! Is the water temp at surface? Also, each day has a high and low temp, as much as 47low and 80high on my lake. Does the spawn at 60 need to be a low of 60, a high or an average? Thanks for any thoughts on this and happy fishing!!

Forgot to ask. Is overnight air temperature a good indicator of what phase a lake is in?
@BassFishingHQ
@BassFishingHQ 4 жыл бұрын
@@geraldbergevin1544 overnight air temp can definitely have an impact on bass. Sometimes in the spring if you have warm nights the bass will really push up shallow, especially during the prespawn. On the other side, sometimes cool night in th spring can make fish shut down for a few hours because it will bring the water temp down

Just curious what effects bass more ? Temp or Sun angle(seasonal change). Would a bass from Minnesota be actively feeding in the middle winter if you dropped him in AZ? Water temps are similar in opposite seasons.
@BassFishingHQ
@BassFishingHQ 4 жыл бұрын
Thats an interesting concept, I would imagine if you dropped a bass from Minnesota in Arizona it would be a little confused for a while, but I believe it would slowly adjust to the temperatures of Arizona and start to take on Arizona seasonal patterns. Probably similar to if you decided to move to China. It would take a little time getting used to the time difference, but you would eventually adjust

My question is the whole body of water with same temperature or the temperature varies depending on the depth of the lake as well? When you say winter water temperature is 45 that means is 45 at the bank at 5 feet of water and as well in the middle of the lake at 40 feet of water? Thank you
@josemarrero7982
@josemarrero7982 3 жыл бұрын
Awesome vid man, i have a question tho. What if the body of water you fish is at max 5.5” in depth??? Do i look for shaded areas??? Under docks and trees n stuff???? 🤔
@BassFishingHQ
@BassFishingHQ 3 жыл бұрын
Yes cover is going to be critical in a lake like that. I have several that I fish that are similar to that. Shade is key, especially in summer when the whole lake is going to be very hot. Find shade and find bass. Typically what I have seen on lakes like this is that fish will group up shallow. You may hit 15 shade pockets or docks and not catch anything, but then you hit the right one and you will catch several in the same place.
