Being an old roofer, I'd tear out what you've done and use torch down material (color is your choice) and as stated by @ariels36, use a piece of either glass or plastic but make sure it's sealed at least 1" all around. For the berm, I used sawdust and waterproof glue (Tite Bond 3 works great and dries clear). You can get sawdust from any lumber yard for free. I cleaned out from under their saw and got 4 - 5 gal. buckets and they thanked me for the cleaning! It's a simple process, form up the berm you want, water down the glue (5 to 1 mixture) and apply over the top of the sawdust. Tite Bond 3 is a outdoor project glue and will give you 5 to 7 mins. "working time but if you water it down you'll have an easy 15 - 20 mins. to form up any areas you weren't happy with. Just a process I used, and it worked without any problems. Ever thought of adding a couple of kids catching a fish to the river? Just a thought.

@@BruceGibson-ku1pz hi. Thanks! I may yet seal more. Perhaps the glue over what I have? I do want a gloss finish in the end. And more waterproof would be a plus. Tearing out not an option. Everything is layered into everything else. But I’m mostly happy with as is. But a gloss final finish. And more waterproof would be a plus. In the meantime, onto lights at Grapevine.

And. I love sawdust!! I’ve even used it as sawdust! But usually sand. Sand is way to corse to look good. So sawdust. Even as HO sand around a sand house.

I just started watching your building of the bridge and you mentioned that your in Utah. I spent 5 1/2 yrs. out in Park City building a few of the buildings involved in the 2002 Olympics so I know the Salt Lake area also (somewhat). You might be surprised of the amount of free materials you can get from Pacific Supply, Anderson's lumber, or just find a house being built in your area. Scrap is always on a job site and will gladly be given to anyone who asked. It helps with their clean-up.

A suggestion: Turn part of 'the wall' behind the bridge into a water fall, fed by your drip irrigation system for the plants. That would create an interesting effect 🙂
@ToyManTelevision4 ай бұрын
@@Conn653 I thought about that. But I had that on my old railroad. Lots of trouble. So keep it simpler. I have thought about installing a waterfall I have. Fiberglass. About 3 feet (1 meter) tall just to the left of the unfinished part of the north section.

A piece of glass might also work to simulate water, and it wont warp with temperature changes. You can paint the underside as a gradient to get the effect of depth.

Yep, we do that inside. Out here it’s kind of fun to just have standing water. And as I say, it drains out in about 45 minutes. So it’s fun to fill it up when we want to and it’s nice that it just goes away after that.

Fascinating the way you did this little pond/dry pond area under the bridge. Looks realistic. If it did hold water longer, you could have put in some duckweed that would create a living pond. Excellent video as always.

Dale, I have been meaning to ask you; why doesn't the track short out from rain or snow?
@ToyManTelevision4 ай бұрын
Hi again. I assume there is amperage flowing through the water. A bit. I know for sure that a fish would feel that! ⚡️🐠. Because I can feel it when I touch the track! But it doesn’t effect the way the trains go. So just don’t touch the track!
