Explain this one lol If you have to replace a pressure switch. You have to drain the tank then add two PSI less than your pressure switch requires... How do you pressurize a tank when that lever releases the air because you have to pressurize the tank before water is added

As you know, release the water to below the pressure switch. Replace the switch and turn on the pump. If the PS begins to short cycle then adjust the center nut counter clockwise until it stops. The pressure switch will keep a 5lb differential on its own

The short answer is to install one. That may be difficult if there is a plug in it and the plug won't come out. If you are having problems getting the plug out I would suggest filling the tank with water so you have some leverage and use a pipe wrench. If you happen to round the corners of the plug then you will have to use a saws all and cut the plug as close to the tank as poss ible in order to see a small hole in the plug. If you don't see one then drill a hole as large as you can in order to get the saws all into the tank where the plug is and then make about 3 cuts down to the threads being careful not to cut too deeply. Use needle nose pliers to remove the parts. Put your new AVC in and viola you should be in business. Well Said Thanks for the info. The issue with mine is that it's about 8 feet into the ground in a well vault. There's a three step ladder going down a manhole to access it. The chamber has no room on either side to really work on the tank. I checked it out and it seems to be waterlogged instead of air logged, and the seem at the top just started to leak air this morning. I think it maybe time for a new tank.

I'm sorry to hear about your predicament. Although if there is air leaking out of the top then it may not be water logged. If it is water logged then your check valve is bad. A way to tell in your situation, (I'm guessing you also have a pitless adapter) Is to turn the valve off to the house that should be after the pressure tank and see if the pump comes on by itself. If it does this simply means that you have water bleeding backwards past your check valve back into the well. As stated in the video you will know if it is air locked because you will have air in your lines inside the house. @@dennisfranks3735 I'm not sure what a vertical mse-6 is however, if you have a submersible pump and are not getting any pressure then you more than likely have a hole in the pipe somewhere.

Unfortunately, I've got to rebuild filtration again after Imelda dropped a tree here & destroyed the last one...which makes 3 systems in just a few years.

I guess you are using salt water, so how many gpm do you need for fire suppression? 2. why do you need to disinfect the water even if it is not potable? 3.Do you still have the pump that you used to pump the water into the tank? 4. Did you pump the water from the tank to other areas in your camp? 5. How many sinks and toilets are you servicing?

I changed the air volume control, replaced the pressure switch and i still have more air than water, the tank is light..It takes about a week or less for the air to take over...I start getting air from my bathroom toilet...Help please, why is the tank still filling with air?

john redcorn have someone help you, have them turn breaker to the well off and stay there. Then you take the pressure relief valve off with a couple of pipe wrenches please be careful to use equal pressure or you will break the pipe and lose your pump. Once you have it lose enough to use your hand as you take it off listen closely to see if you hear air being sucked in as you remove the pressure relief valve, if water comes out then your check valve is bad. Let me know what happens and we can go from there

It takes a while. If you remove the pressure gauge it will then allow enough air to drain the tank slowly. If you can, remove the AVC and let the water pour out

The tank should be empty and air release valve installed to get the correct balance of air to water otherwise you will short cycle the pump Or water log the system.

This is what I do. I fill the tank with water without the AVC, so that way I have enough water in the tank to give me enough leverage in order to get the pressure relieve valve tight or you can do it like I did in the video either way will work without getting your tank water logged or air locked and never have a problem and customers never called back
