Excellent dolphin video. Thank you for sharing. I'm at a crossroad on technique; I'm painting a CA brown trout under water and while I like where it is going with the colors I do not know how to make the fish look wet after the watercolor paint is dry. It just has the appearance of being 'flat' (not perspectively) and dull. Any tips and suggestions or videos (yours or anyone else's) would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Thank you Liam! To make the fish look wet you want to find light, so with watercolor preserve light and then build up the layers.. if you already have colors in, you may want to try to lift up the colors. I don't know if I have a video of a fish that has been posted.. I did another painting of a dolphin but I don't think that one is showing "wetness"... maybe someone else will see this comment and will have a video in mind.

This painting is absolutely gorgeous. when you did yellow ochre, viridian and turquoise. Did you just dab each paint a little and not mix??? Thank you for your videos. Also thanks for putting the colors with what kind of paper it is. Now the size of the painting and we're complete. You do so much already I almost hate to ask (almost) he-he-he-he.

haha thank you Bob :) This one I painted on Arches, Hot Pressed, 140lb, size 9X12... slowly and slowly you will see more and more info in my videos haha so I didn't pre mix the colors on my palette I just grabbed as I went with each and mixed them on a paper. Like when I already had turquoise, viridian hue on my paper..., I just added/mixed in yellow ochre. Thank you :)

Hi Mathilde ☺️🌸Yes you can and it will not make any difference :) I paint without using art masking fluid all the time, you just have to go around and make sure the paint doesn't go inside the dolphins :)
