Joanne, I love everything about this piece! You didn’t happen to film the painting of what you call “scrap” did you? Is it watercolor? It is so prettty! You must have let it dry in between application of the different colors. I would have produced a brown blob or two….my scrap pieces look nothing like yours😜

Thank you! No I did not film the scrap watercolor. It is just a time when I take out a few watercolors and see how they play together. I am wondering if anyone would like to see how to create the just backgrounds from various color combinations. And yes, I do let watercolors dry before going over them with the ink and paint pens. Because I used a scrap watercolor background piece here, it was dry from sitting around for a bit. 😀

Would it pay to buy a good set of colored pens, to do this kind of doodling? What brand would you recommend.

Hi there! I have many kinds of pens and seem to reuse the same ones but for different things. If you poke around my videos, you can see what I use and what I do with them. I list all of the supplies in the description as well as a shopping tab, on the video itself, which if you click on it will show you to the right of the video, exactly what the products in the video are. This way you get a better feel for what I use when, and can get a feel for what you might like to try. I am posting a video on Saturday where I use most of my favorite pens and you can see what I do with them. I hope that helps. 😀
