I love hummingbirds and this rendering is the most beautiful I’ve ever laid eyes on and I’ve seen many! Maria, your sense of color is astounding! Maria Raczynska u r a self taught artist or did u go to clg ? I mean like seriously am doing my fine arts first year .. I don't have that much time.. can u make a video abt how to spend or steal time for doing art? and how to improve myself in watercolor ? and how to choose the best watercolor paper? since I'm in India .. i don't have fine arts shop nearby .. I mostly buy everything in Amazon.. so do give some suggestions.... sorry for annoying u wth these many requests 😂

Hi Evangelin, thank you! I'm a self taught artist, I started in 2012. It's really just lots and lots of practice and patience. I paint either from imagination or pictures, pictures put together. So when I do that I study these photos then create a pencil sketch, think of the colors I need, what to do to make my painting more vibrant - good color selection, layers and hot pressed is best for that, in my opinion. Amazon is a good place to buy if you are in India. Please email me directly for websites links and brands I use if you would like. So the only way to really improve yourself is practice. I experimented a lot to create my own style. I share these techniques in my videos already. Sponge, wet brushing, dry brushing, paper towel, art masking fluid, fan brushing etc I did lots and lots of painting but it paid off so just keep practicing. Also try different papers like cold pressed hot pressed rough so you know what you like the most :)

I was admiring your bracelet. Thank you for sharing. I didn't know it was because of theft. I enjoy your videos please don't let those people get to you. I have taken a few lessons but I have learned so much more from watching your videos. I am retired and 67yrs, live in Western Massachusetts and I am half Polish. The Polish spelling of my maiden name is Tyzska, grandfather was from Warsaw and came here in the early 1900's, grandmother was from a smaller country town.

Yes, few of our artists friends here has given me a ton of suggestions on what I can do to protect my videos. One of them was that I wear something specific in every video, also so it cannot be covered.. When I saw some of my videos on other channels, some people have tried to cover up my logos... My videos has been downloaded and uploaded on KZbin or other sites by different users. It's a long story haha but that's the price of sharing. I rather share than not share :) I'm half Polish as well, I live in Los Angeles, CA. I don't know many Polish people here and I do speak fluent Polish. My mom is Polish. Hi Kanwaljit, Thank you so much! you know I have over 100 videos where I use watercolors and white gouache, have you seen any of those? that's one of my things as an artist #1. I paint in layers #2. I use designer's gouache color: permanent white as white color and yes, sometimes I use pictures for reference like here two separate photos, one of cherry blossom flowers, the other one of a hummingbird, I put those two together :)

Hi Gina! Thank you so much! I will be happy to paint these pretty little birds :) I'm a self taught artist, started in 2012. One day I bought brushes and paints out of tubes, watercolor paper and started to experiment with painting watercolors :) I never watched any videos anywhere even on KZbin until last year and when I did I decided to create my own channel. I did experiment for a year with watercolor pencils prior to that but didn't like it back then (10yrs ago) I truly believe it's patience and practice also creating your own style and sticking to it :))

Hi Laina, thank you so much! 🌸🤗I believe the size is 10X14 but I would have to double check. My current online classes are available at maria-raczynska.teachable.com and soon I will start working on my next "Watercolor bird" class. So far there's "Ocean waves class, "Watercolor Cat", "Landscape", "watercolor sea turtle"and this Saturday I am launching a new class: Watercolor roses🤗

Hi Laina, on my patreon you will find a lot of real time videos of some of the youtube videos, or some that are only on Patreon. This one is not available in Real Time. Basically my Patrons vote every two weeks which paintings become real time videos. 🌸🤗

Oh bummer! :) Okay, thanks for helping me. I'm sure I'll find another one of your watercolors that I'm so in love with that I want to learn to paint it! :) If they end up voting this one in, please let me know. Also, I'd like to ask, do you offer substitute paint recommendations for other brands of water color paint. Mine are Daniel Smith and you use Holbein right? If I take a class, do you share what the substitute paints would be in the Daniel Smith brand?

Hi Laina, in my online classes I share charts for example Winsor and Newton vs Holbein, those are swatches/substitutes and Holbein vs Schmincke so far. I haven't tried Daniel Smith yet! not yet :)
