Thank you for this lesson. I find it of real value to hear about the painting process. Repetition of hearing and seeing leads to (finally) having the concepts sink in and applied in my own work!

Very interesting analysis of study. But it's amazing that you could read a painting as if you are reading a novel... effortlessly.🤪

You described the main elements and techniques really well, it was amazing stuff- SO much great talent out there, and you underlined in his work all the things you’ve always said about warm/ cool, dark/ mid tones, shapes etc. How he dealt with all those boats made me remember my lagoon boats. GROAN. I need to try again. Thanks for another peek at artists.

Enjoyed seeing this artist's work, particularly interesting when you explain the various techniques he uses. And I like his muted colors mixed with warm tones, and sharp edges next to impressionistic blurs.

Beautiful! and I’m awed by how photo perfect they look from a distance. But HOW?
@LironYan
@LironYan 3 жыл бұрын
Skills I suppose 😉 What I find that really helps, is to actually interpret the scene from a distance. To see the overall picture, and to make sure to paint it LIKE THAT first. And only afterwards to worry about the details within it. Kind of like seeing it in low resolution, temporarily (:

Loved those little details, the vineyards at 8:43 for instance. The last one is probably my favorite. He likes to use that orange-ish pigment (the roof at 7:03 , eg ), which color is that?
@LironYan

That's a great question! Could actually be some kind of red light, or pyrrol orange (PO 71) / Pyrrol Red (PR 254) mixed in. Happy you enjoyed this one (:
