I love patterns and graphic landscapes. As a novice painter, I find them more relaxing than trying to paint “realistic” art. Thank you!

This type of painting can definitely be less intimidating to the new painter. So glad you found it helpful. Happy Painting!

For pattern based painting, check out the Indian Gond tribal art. I am finding it most inspiring, although it is usually done with more opaque mediums such as acrylics.

I've got to say, I had to tell myself " trust the process" I really didn't like it when I was painting, my shapes were untidy and lots of white gaps. Then I outline in fine colored markers, & did the mark making in a gold fine liner since I don't have white, now that I look again yes I like it , I know it's a sketch book, but it's how I am, so thank you & I will see you tomorrow.❤❤❤❤❤❤

Being totally disgusted like 😱 "Omigosh, I can't believe she picked that spot..." 😤 *LOL!* 😂 If anyone is getting _that_ worked up over a watercolor journal exercise, (a free one, at that) they need to put the phone down and step away from the screen. 😅 Too funny!! ✅️ *Subscribed*

For this kind of pattern the minimal amount of colours to use is 4, as per Four Colour Theorem.
@shanacirce266710 ай бұрын
Good to know! Thank you.
@marisaleong62563 ай бұрын
Thanks for the tutorial. When your painting consists of 4 or 5 colors used repetitively like this one, do you use a separate brush for each color? So you are not constantly cleaning one brush with each color change? I notice you use a separate brush for softening edges, but what about for color changes? How do you do it? I hope my question makes sense. Thank you.
@shanacirce26673 ай бұрын
I definitely do not use a separate brush for color changes. I’m frugal but not that frugal with my paints. 😁You can try to group your colors together. Paint all the sections of the same color at the same time. I hope that helps.
