Watercolor Kingfisher Painting Tutorial Using the Primary Colors

In this video I'm sharing my process for painting this delightful little kingfisher bird using a limited palette-- only three warm primary colors! I'll show you how I use these colors to mix a beautiful blue, orange, brown, black, and earthy green.

I have a large rectangular divided porcelain platter that has 3 small sections at one end- PERFECT for limited palate painting! It has crate and barrel label on bottom, but probably made by others as well.

At 2:58 in video the head has white tiny strips how did they get there?

I used the dark blue to paint around the light stripes--they are actually light blue from the first layer, but appear white next to the dark blue. :)
