Hey all, I hope you enjoy the video, I just wanted to apologize, there are a few audio glitches that I was unable to fix, hopefully they won't be too bothersome though. Thanks for watching!

So glad you’re reviewing Ampersand panels. I’ve recently gotten into oil pastels and I bought a 3 pack of the 5 x 7 Ampersand Museum Series Gessobord to try out 3 different sets of oil pastels. I was so impressed by how great these panels worked with the oil pastels. I used “pro-grade” ( not the very top, but very good) oil pastels: Mungyo Gallery, Paul Rubens & Cray-Pas Specialist. They all performed well, but the Mungyo looked the most gorgeous and with very few crumbs. It was like velvet and I know it had a lot to do with the Gessobord. I’ve got a few Aquabord too for my water coloring. I wish I could by a large stash of them, especially the larger ones, but they’re not cheap...but oh so worth it for better art pieces.

I love Ampersand panels! I have tried a bunch of them over the years! I never thought to try oil pastel on Gessobord, I will have to try that sometime! Have you ever tried their Pastelbord? I haven't tried it for oil pastels yet, because I'm fairly new to oil pastels, but I love it for soft pastels and colored pencils!

Love this. Thank you for the demonstration. I’m a watercolor artist but have only used watercolor paper. I bought some watercolor boards from Amazon that I’ll be trying soon.

A pochade box I bought came with these. I should definitely try them out since they seem like a fun and unique surface I had never tried before. Maybe I should even use my Viviva watercolor sheets with them, since they’re also a unique form of watercolor. I wonder what other unorthodox watercolor supplies there are that I could use for this experiment? I suppose water brushes aren’t really too common and I’ve seen some fun shaped mixing palettes on Etsy.

That's such a fun idea! I love playing around with different combinations and unique art supplies! I actually did a video a few years back where I used all my novelty art supplies on a piece. It was fun!

Beautifully done ❤👍🏼. No need to apologize. I just finished my first watercolor painting on watercolor canvas and now I’m going to try the Aquaboard. I’ve been procrastinating because it’s so expensive. I’ve heard that it’s possible to wash the painting off and start over so maybe that’s a plus too 😅

Hi. What is the difference between the aqua bords and the clay bords from this brand ? Best regards from Denmark 😊
@CautionArtistatPlay10 ай бұрын
Hi there! I think these tend to be a bit more absorbent than the clayboard to give them a bit more of a watercolor paper feeling.

Can you use Pigment markers on this?
@CautionArtistatPlay2 жыл бұрын
I haven't tried using markers on their aquabord yet, but I looove using water-based markers on their encausticbord.

No cringing here. I mix watercolor and gouache, too. 🤗
