I am a beginner and new to your channel. I have watched three or four of your minis but have not heard you mention a brand of paint you are using. I am glad you should your brushes. I have just discovered your wonderful mini tutorials. I am new to painting, and have the audacity to begin my adventure with watercolor. I find the play of water and paint fascinating. Your tutorials are wonderful! Please can you tell me... it seems like you must have the paper board propped up to make the paint bleed down...how do you do that? And what degree would you say is ideal for basic application of wet on wet when you apply the paint that you want to bleed down?

You can prop your board against a book, or anything that gives you an angle you like. Sometimes you might need an angle, like for some skies, but a lot of times you want to work flat. Gravity is another tool to use with watercolor, just like brushes are tools. You can tip your board any which way to move the paint around. However.....you do not need an easel, so please do not buy one. You need to have flexibility in how you want to handle your board, and an easel will make it impossible for you to paint flat when you want to, without having to move your whole set up. While some people do use an easel with watercolor, they're usually very experienced painters who are adept at handling the flow of the paint.
